No, you don't got it. Your dad and his siblings were raised by a widow. They were NOT raised by a never-married-mom. Your grandma has completely different social status than a never-married mom.

More to the point, your dad and his siblings may very well be pieces of shit. I don't know. But because they were born legitimate and raised by a widow (and not a never-married-mom) it is much more UNLIKELY that their being a piece of a shit was the fault of their mother. In MOST cases, when pieces of shit are raised by a never-married-mom, SHE is the main reason why her children are they way they are.
