So even assuming you got all the rest of them correct (you didn't), you'd still be nowhere close to 800 if you didn't even answer the last 5-6 questions (which you admitted), i.e., fully 10% of the total questions. Why did you lie, IB?
Lie? That is exactly mathematically correct. I didn't do the last 5 questions. I got a 750. You get 200 for putting your name on it.

My guidance counselor lost his shit because he knew I answered every question, right. And 800 looks a fuck load better than 750.

Invest in gold. Now.

Post by eCat » Mon Feb 05, 2024 5:04 pm

gold futures says they expect it to rise $300 in 2024.

Are you hearing a bigger jump?

Post by Jungle Rat » Mon Feb 05, 2024 5:53 pm

If interest rates drop a couple times this year (which I expect) I see it doing more than $300.

Gold closed at $2041 on the day Rat made the first post above. Currently trading $2408...

If you had jumped on the train earlier you would've done even better. Low close for the past year was Oct. 5 at $1834. That puts gold up 33% in 6 months. Not bad...

I got some back then as well. Gonna hold onto it for a bit. See what Iran & Israel do to each other.

aTm,

I have membership in a forum that is having issues. A few questions:

Didn’t you used to have banner ads here? How are the operating costs of the forum? Is the server and software of this place stable? Does mgmt require a lot of your time? Would you ever consider being a resource person for a forum that has to find a new home and failing that, what kinda issue would it be to offer a home with multiple (many, dozens, a hundred?) threads.

You can email me if you have time or answer here or whatever.

TIA,

Yours in Don Sutton,

AA

...and would you be ok with a cretin from Nebraska who consistently pisses off 99% of the forum posters?

Asking for a friend.

As long as you keep that weird pizza to yourself and promise to burn down at least three Little Ceasars, I'm in support of your move here.

It costs about three hundred dollars a year in hosting fees, the domain name registration, and likely ancillary garbage that the webhosting service has you pay for like backup and various scam security services. A few years ago it was probably 2/3 that price. Banner ads are worthless, maybe 10-15 years ago or however long ago this place started, I would get a hundred dollar check from Google once every couple years, but basically the amount that they pay eventually went down to where, i guess maybe it was going up but only by fractions of cents a month. God know what I have in the account now, and I removed ads from most pages after we had to upgrade. I used Google, and it also was a hassle because if I put the ad on ever page, to maximize impressions, basically even 10 years ago they had robots crawling the content and if their ad was on the same page as somebody named Jungle Rat saying he wanted to rape a chicken, they would suspend your account and you'd have to try to get it reinstated.

Maintenance for this is extremely low. I dont ever touch it. But every few years it breaks because some software or other gets upgraded by the webhost and I have to spend a day or so looking around, figure out what broke, and then fix it or get the software up to date or whatever.

As far as adding a forum, it could be done, similar to how we have the old abandoned NBA stuff here. 1) How active is it in terms of users and posts and 2) how much of an emergency is it to get something up and running soon?
