LOl, stands as Balderdash aka nonsensical untruth
why do you lie?
Bullshit. Well documented and also believed by the Republicans who passed in the state and then the idiot who bragged that it would help Romney win the state. I would ask you why do you lie, but that would require you actually knowing something.

While some may consider a card from a state college a 'government-issued ID' (and be okay with accepting those and disallowing the others), I think it would be too problematic. Take an ID from the University of Tennessee, but not from Vandy? Take one from The University of Indiana but not from Notre Dame? Heck, Harvard, MIT, Duke...etc, etc would all be off the list.
Nah. Just take the hunting license off the table as a compromise and give a free ID to those few who don't already have an ID from an official government agency.
Give everybody a federal voting iD. They have to register for Civil Service, give them a card just before their 18th birthday, for free.

Why does it have to be Monday?

There are very few "good guys" in the Middle East for the US to support by force. We supported Saddam Hussein and the Mujahadeen at one point.
I say, get our oil from anywhere BUT the Middle East and leave them alone like we do Africa. We can't be the world's policeman anymore.

I think what is happening in Syria is horrible.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Not disagreeing with you but it's a world market and will have little effect on the need to be in the Middle East as long as we continue to use exponentially more oil than the rest of the world and need the fossil fuel. Of course, that difference will change, not because we use less, but because China and India will use a lot more.I say, get our oil from anywhere BUT the Middle East and leave them alone like we do Africa. We can't be the world's policeman anymore.
China oil imports to overtake U.S. by 2017: WoodMac, http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/08/ ... BB20130820
We still get most of our foreign oil from Canada (please don't mention the pipeline. The pipeline has nothing to do with importing oil to the U.S.). This was followed by Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Nigeria. 2008http://www.infoplease.com/science/energ ... ports.html
We've since increased our imports from Saudi Arabia while decreasing our imports from Venezuela, probably due to the hostile govt there. Now, our imports come from
Top sources of net crude oil and petroleum product imports:
Canada (28%)
Saudi Arabia (13%)
Mexico (10%)
Venezuela (9%)
Russia (5%)
Also, our dependence on foreign oil has decreased over the past several years. http://www.eia.gov/energy_in_brief/arti ... ndence.cfm
Reliance on petroleum imports has declined
U.S. dependence on imported oil has declined since peaking in 2005. This trend is the result of a variety of factors including a decline in consumption and shifts in supply patterns.1 The economic downturn after the financial crisis of 2008, improvements in efficiency, changes in consumer behavior, and patterns of economic growth all contributed to the decline in petroleum consumption. At the same time, increased use of domestic biofuels (ethanol and biodiesel), and strong gains in domestic production of crude oil and natural gas plant liquids expanded domestic supplies and reduced the need for imports.

Owl, "Frack baby frack! Drill baby drill in South Dakota, Alaska, the Gulf of Mexico, ANYWHERE but the Middle East. Let's exploit oil in THIS hemisphere and knock the Saudis off that list of top US oil suppliers. i don't trust the Saudis and their extremist Wahabbi brand of Islam either.
Hedge, how 'bout George Bernard Shaw? We need to keep a watchful eye on him too. You can't trust those Irishmen, ya know.

Assad is going down no matter what. We should put a cruise missle up his ass before he gasses half the country. No boots, just something precise from above. Even a near miss would be worthwhile message.
