OK, I did some troubleshooting and I got this message: "If you think you have a sound card installed, but you don't see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there." So I did that and I saw "multimedia audio controller" and clicked on it. In the "general" tab, it said "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver." So I clicked "reinstall driver" and the wizard thing came up and acted like it was doing something, but then it said "the hardware was not installed b/c the wizard could not find the necessary software". So I went to the "driver" tab and clicked on "update driver" and the same thing happened. Then I clicked "roll back driver" and it said "no driver files have been backed up for this device." Now what??

I'm much more interested in these dumbass kids getting poison ivy than Hedgehog's PC issues. And no, I don't think eCat is to blame, he told them twice and they chose not to listen. Plus, they're supposed to be scouts, not just some kids who have never been outside before.

hedge, try this - go to system restore and restore your computer back to like the day before the last day your sound card worked.

start--->all programs-->accessories-->system tools--->system restore

last night we lost power and I had to hook up the generator to run the sump pump and since I had it out, I went ahead and plugged in the flatscreen. Since I didn't bother to hook up the dish, I just had the TV scan for all the digital signals that are in the air. I was surprised to find out we have 37 digital channels (probably more since I have a shitty little antennae).

A fair number of them are religious horseshit but there are some things that are worth watching.

Well, eCat can suggest a lovely tiger pit design and Augie has some nice Sonv speakers he could let you have at a very reasonable price, is good have Sony guts.
