Looks like the Dem's belatedly responded to outside criticism and allowed the word "God" into their platform. But to allay widespread internal distress, the controversial G-word is safely restrained as an adjective. To use the G-word word, that is so offensive to many Democrats, as a patriarchal noun would no doubt set off a firestorm within the the tolerant, pluralistic and diverse ranks in Charlotte.

Question, oh professorial one. Do Libertarians also find the G-word offensive? Looking at your platform, there is no mention of God whatsoever. In ANY grammatical form.Professor Tiger wrote:Looks like the Dem's belatedly responded to outside criticism and allowed the word "God" into their platform. In fact there is hardly any mention of religion at all. The lib'tary platform actually offers up more support for individuals rights to abortions, gay marriages, and recreational drug use. Not that there is anything wrong with all that, right?

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Well, the Libertarian PARTY is not MY party. I voted for them in 2008, and I do like their general philosophy that the government - especially the federal government - should leave citizens as much freedom as possible. That includes freedom of religion, which the Libertarians maximize, and which gives Democrats a skin rash.
Similarly, I oppose abortion and gay marriage, but I know not everybody will agree with me on those issues. So until that happens, I am willing to let states decide those matters, like they always did until recently, rather than having one-size-fits-all edicts imposed by Washington.
As for recreational drug use, someone once said Libertarians are Republicans who want to smoke weed.

William Jefferson Clinton - Still undefeated vs. the GOP.
During a press conference later, O'Mara was asked if he had any advice for Zimmerman, and he answered, "Pay me."

You know I can't do that, sardis. Woodward helped bring down Nixon and later revealed to the world the ill-fated mental gymnastics dubya employed when deciding to conquer Iraq.sardis wrote:I'm sure tick will come in here and try to convince us that Bob Woodward is a right wing nutjob...

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Clinton would get elected president of any country on the planet if he wanted to run. That speech last night was the final nail in the coffin for even the longest of longshot dreams that only the dumbest repubs out there still held out any hope for a Romney victory. Of course, the dumbasses in here are even dumber than that, so I expect them to carry on with their whining and squealing....

Well that's one way of looking at it . Of course another would be 1,325,000,000 per year under Obama and 630,000,000 under Bush or slightly more than twice as much per year under Obama .............just sayin

If at first a socialist state doesn't succeed...try try again. Keep trying until you are in debt. Then do it some more. Eventually it will work. Nevermind that is has never worked. It's your compassion that matters...not your results.
