I guess I just like the winter better because the ski jump & downhill events have the potential for disaster.

I like both, but I prefer watching the winter games as well.

To me, there is nothing more dramatic than watching the 4x relays in track and field and swimming. It's just so intense. I've found myself screaming at the TV in the past, standing up in the family room watching a team try to eek a Gold or break a record. Beijing's relay where Phelps won gold by a bubble in his bong water was incredible and I have seen nothing as close to that in the Winter's (USA Hockey was close...but other than that, I struggle to put a moment on my list). I don't think it's a coincidence that the Summer Olympic athletes get the lion's share of the endorsements, either.

Is there any iconic job entertainment job that Ryan Seacrest doesnt appear to have already gotten or be angling for?

Gymnastics on TV is kinda awful, but I gotta admit seeing clip after clip of Chinese dudes busting their ass and fucking up was kinda satisfying.

The 2K Sports Classic bracket was revealed on July 26, and features several marque teams. Alabama will be joined in Madison Square Garden by Oregon State, Villanova, and Purdue.

She is the current world champion I think, but she shaved like 5 seconds off her time. I think a lot of people assume she's doped. Her final freestyle split (the last 100 M) was 0.03 off of Lochte's and was faster than 3 of the men's finalists. I guess 16 year old Chinese girls just have incredible endurance.

Speaking of Kung fu, has anyone ever seen the movie "Shaolin Soccer"?

The Chinese have the most unimaginative culture in the world.

If they only understood we don't give a shit about swimming except for 3 weeks out of every 4 years they'd try to get good at something else.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

It's not swimming, per se. It's total medal count. If they end up with more than any other country it supports their belief of cultural superiority - same with us. It becomes an accomplishment of national pride.

And, yes, aTm, I have seen Shaolin Soccer.

Having been a swimmer and a swimming coach I really enjoy the olympics, because these two weeks every four years only time the sport is in the national and world spotlight.

It looks like the Phelps era is coming to an end. He hasn't been training well and is going on talent alone, which many great athletes do when their time is almost up. He's had a great run of it as the first real professional in the sport. Being able to earn a living as a competing swimmer was only dreamed about in my time. Not that I would have been one to do so. I'm just grateful that I got most of my college paid for and was able compete on the Division I level. But damn it was hard exhausting intense work. I was glad when it was finally over. It would take a lot of money for a swimmer to keep up that level of trainng beyond the college years. It looks like Phelps has enough of it.

I want you guys to cheer for Nick Thoman in the 100m backstroke. I did get the joy of coaching workouts he was in while he was home for Christmas in 2006. He is seeded third going into the finals Monday night.
