If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it, then how bad of a decision can it really be?

Heh, of course it is. Look at the lines on the palm. Don't let one of the least covered, but still least sun-exposed, parts of the body fool you.

NEW YORK – Baron Davis tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his right knee, a potentially career-threatening injury for the New York Knicks' 33-year-old point guard.

The Knicks said Davis was expected to be out a year after an MRI on Monday also revealed a partial tear of the patella tendon.

Basically.

He wouldn't be available until the 2013/2014 season.

so Tyson Chandler wins DPOY but doesnt make the all-defensive 1st team?

why does the league let this silliness happen?

and since when did the all-rookie 1st team include 7 players?

It just shows the disconnect between writers and coaches.

I agree but what it shows more demonstratively is that one of those two groups shouldn't have the ability to determine a league award.

Well, that's the dilemma, though. Which one is right? Is Tyson not a worthy DPOY, or should coaches lose their say in voting in the All NBA team?

once DPOY is awarded that player should have their position locked on the 1st team

the coaches should only be voting from the pool of remaining players for the other 4 1st team spots & 5 2nd team spots

same goes for ROY (rookie 1st team) & MVP (all-nba 1st team)

OR..... Only one group should vote. I don't believe that any journalist sees nearly enough games to truly know the best players. I would rather see 5 or 10 spots allocated to each team for coaches, gms, or scouts. And those allocated spots should be the only voting for all awards.... Or leave it to the players.

In an unforeseen reversal, Jason Kidd has decided to leave the Dallas Mavericks to join the New York Knicks, according to sources familiar with the decision.

With the Mavericks confident that they were closing in Thursday on a verbal agreement on a three-year deal with Kidd worth $9 million, sources told ESPN.com that Kidd -- after all-day deliberations with both teams -- has decided instead to leave Dallas to join the Knicks for a similar deal.

The contract can't actually be signed until July 11, which is the first day new NBA contracts can be signed. It's also possible, one source said, that Kidd could ultimately move to the Knicks in a sign-and-trade deal.

Sources briefed on the matter told ESPN.com that Kidd was ultimately swayed to take the Knicks' offer to come to New York and take on the challenge of trying to help the Knicks move into the Eastern Conference and also mentor fans darling' Jeremy Lin.

My part of town is gonna be fun. Without D12, BKNets will suck, but the stadium is a short walk for me so I'll get to go to games cheap (it'll be like being a Lakers fan) and Kidd on the NYK is perfect for them and help Melo get over that hump.

Hopefully, Shump comes back healthy too.
