because ain't shit else to talk about in politics.

(also, Iowa has chosen the last 3 or 4 Presidents in the general election...so if Romney doesn't win it in the Caucus, then he probably won't win it in the general, ergo...)

Ron Paul 3rd, Romney probably barely first.

This is probably the highwater mark for Paul. He's unlikely to get better than this. The only question is whether he'll decide to go independent (I don't think he will).

who knows

In age brackets, Ron Paul gets 41% of the vote among the 17-29 year olds and similar numbers from voters registered as independents. A 3rd party run would get voters from both parties.

Santorum is about to find out what Newt did about Romney superpac

A 3rd place finish actually has some positives for him. The attack ads and media attention will go back to what it was a month before Iowa where RP was just a candidate they mentioned as an afterthought.

Bachman is history, and really - she has been Paul's harshest critic. Santorum will take up the cause thinking that pulling votes from Paul is easier than Romney but the superpac is going to take him down and he'll be exposed in a similar light as Gingrich. Plus as of now he has no money, no ground team and no time to canvas New Hampshire like he did Iowa.

Perry will spend all his money going after Romney.

I could see Ron Paul easily landing another 3rd place win in New Hampshire - and as candidates drop out or become irrelevant, staying power becomes more important.

I think Perry is dropping out of the race. Santorum is going to use his newfound stardom to advertise in New Hampshire but will spend most of his money in South Carolina (he's going to have a lot more coming in now). Santorum is also likely to ignore Paul. Paul is a niche, not an evangelical. They don't have the same people. If he's smart, he'll leave Gingrich alone, who will come after Romney harshly in the debate.

I don't think Santorum has the money or infrastructure to last but he will get to Florida. At the same time, Romney (who got less of a percentage in Iowa than 4 years ago) will finally be the main target among those that are left.

Huntsman has put all of his eggs in New Hampshire (although most of them are cracked and small). He'll also primarily be going after Romney. Romney, will probably ignore the rest but have his "uncoordinated" pacs go after Santorum. The rest of the field are no threat, imo.

Good. It's easy to be a fruitcake in the House, with the protected districts and all. But that doesn't translate well to a national campaign.

yea I liked Gingrich plea before the voting in Iowa "just remember who ran a positive campaign and who went negative"

and now he is like "I'm taking that mormon sumbitch down!"

Rick Perry's daughter, from what I saw on the screen last night, looks like a nice Jewish girl.

pretty much what I would have expected to read about him. Interesting his wife lived with and used to work for an abortion doctor.

...who was 20 years her senior and delivered her as a baby. Yet, she was the one who helped define Santorum's changing position on abortion from Pro-Choice to vehemently Pro-Life. Interesting they dodged the "life of the mother" question with the stillborn child.

With all that said, I hope she didn't lose her freaky streak once she got all Papacified.

Rush (no I don't listen to him, repeating what someone else said) is saying that Obama is going to pitch offering anyone who has a government backed loan a rate of 4.2% to refinance, regardless of whether you are upside down or not

Can he do that unilaterally? Because no way that gets passed on the Hill.
