QUESTION--- Just watched the Galaxy/red bulls game and after the Ref. blew final whistle and players were wandering around a fight started--2 players were red carded. Question is, I thought after the final whistle the game was over and the ref had no more authority--yes they could be fined by FIFA etc but red carded???

That happened in one of our high school matches once. The kid was suspended for the next match.

The ref has authority from when he enters the pitch to when he leaves it. He can issue cards both before the kick and after the final whistle.

After taking an NFL half-time toilet break I returned to see that my son switched the channel to watch that match. My heart sunk. Now I know what my wife must have felt like when she caught him watching porn on the net...

Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

Seems a bit more mainstream than I imagined.

The second game was last night--was a good game. Later, I watched an interview with Beckham who said he was definitely interested in buying a franchise when he quits playing----Sacramento needs a MLS Team!!!

They won't front a stadium for the basketball team, why would an MLS team set up shop there?

We have a very good basketball arena (used to be called Arco Arena--name changed recently) why should the tax payers pay for another one? Actually Sacramento--or actually one of the suburbs was in the running when they were deciding about San Jose or 'somewhere' so hopefully........

ARCO is old. It doesn't have the amenities that newer, "modern" arenas have like lots of club seating and suites that allow teams to make the most money.

Because an MLS team doesn't need a new stadium, just lease a local high school field to hold all their fans...

good nascar battle going on

stewart and edwards have separated themselves and finished 1 and 2

don't know who has the advantage the rest of the way--two tracks that are different from the normal 1.5milers that require some hard braking but are both over a ile in length

good stuff
