It shouldn't have to come to that. Jurors have a civic duty, they perform it. Then after, we are supposed to just leave them the fuck alone. That is the way it is supposed to be. Because it is NOT that way anymore, we have horrendous verdicts from jurors based on their own physical fear of being retaliated upon from the sinister minions in the world, so to protect themselves they render a verdict that they know is WRONG like what happened in the Derrick Chauvin case up there in Minnesota. And now this one guy (who refused to do the wrong thing) has to get a lawyer to protect himself.

Okay so what do we know? We know that Dutchman Tree Farms in Northwest Michigan is a criminal enterprise bringing in unlawful labor. Either that or they can plead IGNORANCE (which is what ALL the employers who are raided by ICE are doing nowadays) and say that the "company" that Dutchman Tree Farms contracted with to bring in this "labor" is just "labor" and the "contractor" that they are paying, they simply trusted them to vet the legal-ness of the men doing the work. We know that from the phone call from the Michigan Sheriff's department to the driver's "boss."

The 1986 immigration act, wow 40 fucking years ago, anyway that bill that was signed into law went and created the legal loopholes for "companies" to just spring up out of thin air as "subcontractors" where a LEGAL company (like Dutchman Tree Farms of Northwest Michigan) would contract with to get "labor." That is how so many landscaping companies got staffing starting in the late 1980s. I am not saying that is what is happening here. But that DOES HAPPEN ALL THE TIME with all the companies that ICE has been raiding. These companies get their "labor" from "someone else" and they are just staffed with "bodies" (like these 19 guys) and they can say "I KKNOW NOTHING!!!!" when ICE enters their HR department looking for paperwork.

If you are drunk and sell your car for $1, you aren't legally liable to go thru it and long as you can prove you were mentally incapacitated by it. So why is sex between two people who are both mentally incapacitated considered rape? Basically their argument is "if I were sober that wouldn't have happened"

now if he did indeed drug her, well, she's 16, he is going to jail anyways, but if he did drug her, then obviously that isn't the same thing, he needs to be beaten in the back of the jail

my point is that the person who initiates has no better mental capacity to determine consent than the person saying they aren't giving it.

the issue is how far can you claim being incapacitated. We allow it for making dumb financial and material decisions, not so much if you crash your car into a family and kill someone.
