Gallbraith's "angst" was not with the billionaires. Gallbraith was smart enough to know that there are not enough of them to make a difference.

His "angst" was always with the same people that today's left directs their "angst" today, the middle class and upper middle class, Christ worshipping, anti-Transgender, nuclear families. There and tens of millions of them and Gallbraith never thought that they were generous enough with people (like him) to decide how that generosity was to be spread around to the people that he thinks, need it. Those people focused their resources solely on their own families and on their churches. To Gallbraith, that is "selfish."
