Re: UCLA Bruins
I caught the end of Every Which Way But Loose this morning, of course I got onto imdb to check out some of the actors. The champion bare knuckles fighter, Tank Murdock, was played by an actor named Walter Barnes (who was actually 60 years old when the movie was made, you'd think they'd find somebody younger to be the bare knuckles champion, but he did seem pretty tough). Here's what imdb had to say about him:
Following WWII, he was an All-Conference, 60-minute lineman and weightlifter at LSU (1946-48).
Barnes, while an NFL player with the Philadelphia Eagles, was caught by the University of Oklahoma spying on their practices being held in Biloxi, MS, just prior to the 1950 Sugar Bowl in which they were to play against LSU. They were tipped off by an LSU, fan of all things, and a six-man posse including a photographer and a Biloxi policeman caught Barnes with two ladders, a 4x6 between them to stand on, a canvas tarp to hide under, a camera, a notebook and some binoculars in his possession. They took a photo of him for posterity, which still hangs at Owen Field to this day. Barnes ran away and hid in the home of another former LSU player. Whether or not LSU knew anything about it has been denied by LSU and debated for over 50 years, but it apparently didn't help anyway--Oklahoma beat LSU 35-0. Barnes denied it was him in the photo his entire life and took it to his grave.

I want someone's ass blistered in the middle of Thanksgiving Square.

Finally finished up Queen of the South. Not a bad ending. Now I wait for Animal Kingdom to come back in July. Not much out there this summer.

One of the most painful things a parent can do, is sit there and watch their adult children make a whole bunch of really stupid choices while doing and saying nothing. Its so painful, Britney's dad refused to endure it.Jungle Rat wrote: ↑Thu Jun 24, 2021 9:15 am I wish Brittany all the best but those Free Brittany people outside the court house are just flat out weird.
In this case, you have a father who loved his daughter so much, he took the necessary steps some 15 years ago to get control of her money before she could squander it all foolishly. He did that KNOWING that his bi-polar adult daughter would likely hate him for it. I can't say that I blame him. She was nuts. But she was worse than nuts, she was irresponsible. Shaving all her hair and parading around like a fucking lunatic with her very expensive entourage. She was going for broke. So he got control of the money and put her on an allowance. And you know what, 15 years later she still has the money.
We have legal terms like "probate" and "conservatorship" to protect the wealth from the irresponsible person. Now the man that I am that likes my freedoms and liberties, I am disgusted by this whole mess. It seems almost unAmerican. But the father that I am, I can't say that I blame her dad for taking control and using the authority and power of the courts to freeze her spending before it was too late.
Whether or not the power of the court over her money should remain in force after 13 years, that is not for any of us here to decide. We don't see Britney Spears every day and we don't know if she got the help she needed. But if she is still a whack job then for her own sake, I do not want things to change.

Feminism: Eve eats ALL the apples, gives God the middle finder when He confronts her, and has the serpent serve Adam with an injunction ordering him to both stay away from her AND to provide her food and shelter because he dragged her out of the Garden.

I do. I'm not bi-polar. I'm not insane.

Yes. I’ve watched while working on a project the last few nights/early mornings.
I put the show on one monitor and work off the other two.

Re: UCLA Bruins
my take is that Brittney's dad is a money sucking scumbag who love of his daughter had no bearing on him taking over her finances. He saw her potential downfall as an impact to a revenue stream he developed and worked to prevent it from happening.
Brittney should not be in this situation, and honestly probably should have never been.
That said, I have no doubt the moment she gets control of her life, she'll do some incredibly dumb things. I believe it will also come out that her father spent millions on himself and that Brittney is worth only a very small fraction of what she has earned and had withheld from her in conservatoire situation.
The reality is you have to let people be their own trainwreck. Perhaps at 40, that is behind her and she can lead a somewhat normal responsible life, but given she is talking about cranking out more babies, the healing powers of crystals and aliens, I don't hold out high hopes of it.

I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.
