The former pharmaceutical executive named by President Donald Trump to lead a federal coronavirus vaccine development project owns more than $10 million in stock options in a company that has received federal funding to develop such a vaccine.

Trump last week announced that Moncef Slaoui, the former head of vaccine development at the pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline, would be the chief scientist for “Operation Warp Speed,” an administration initiative to speed up the process.

Slaoui stepped down from his position on the board of directors at Moderna, a Massachusetts-based pharmaceutical company which is already planning a clinical trial for a vaccine it developed, to take on the job. His White House position is unpaid, according to the Associated Press.

It should be noted that there are 9 provinces in South Korea.President Moon Jae-in did NOT declare himself a 'war time' president, and then immediately tell the 9 provinces that they were on their own.

Is our country and culture different from South Korea. You bet. Could effective leadership in OUR democracy have saved lives AND our economy?

South Korea's response to the pandemic was basically applied use of big brother spying/data collection on the population. They used personal data gathered from technology and electronics to contact trace and quarantine people.

They are also recently having a spike in cases and deaths, after loosening the testing, tracing, and quarantines, because surprise, if nobody got it the first time, then they can still get it now, and nobody has managed to eliminate this virus, so all South Korea has done is delay the majority of their population from getting it through spying and control of the populace. They will have to keep interfering, tracking, and forcibly quarantining people for forever to beat the virus, unless miraculously they can keep doing it until there is an effective and safe vaccine (coming who knows when if ever).

IF the cowardly Republicans led by the useless Lindsay Graham and Mitch McConnell would pursue this and the corruption of Obamagate, they could bring down the entire democrat party. This will definitely be a debate topic for the fall election anyway.
