California Golden Bears
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

I like Bears, as long as they stay out of my yard.

Re: California Golden Bears
Eye-opening articles about the massive amount of debt Cal has gone into in order to keep up in the CFB arms race. They borrowed over $600 million for stadium renovations and a new student center and tried to raise money by selling $250,000 "endowment seats". Bigtime failure. Now over 20% of their total athletic dept. budget will go towards the interest payments alone.
The sports bubble is going to pop sometime in my lifetime. It has to. I'm pretty pessemistic about this now...schools are investing insane amounts of money into football programs and watch, there's going to be a study with some solid science behind it in the next 20 years that connects brain damage to playing football. Parents are going to keep their kids from playing more and more and the sport is going to slowly (but surely) start struggling.
