Georgia State jumping to 1-A and rejoining the Sun Belt. There's a good chance the Sun Belt could be raided by CUSA once their conglomerate with the MWC is all settled

Thrilling news...Coastal Carolina is moving up to the big leagues and joining the Sun Belt.

To interest the S-E-C folks, Coastal Carolina's bball program is run by former Auburn coach Cliff Ellis!

He has a decent mid-major program. For such a new school, their facilities aren't half bad.

Idaho and New Mexico State have been voted out of the league. They will be looking for new conference affiliations following the 2017 season. Idaho has an offer from the Big Sky Conference, but they'd obviously have to drop back down to the FCS level. One could argue that might improve matters for them.

New Mexico State, OTOH, has always been a major division member.Not sure where'd they would go even if they drop down. Big Sky too? No invite. Southland conf maybe. Outside shot they drop football altogether
