One time when Norm McDonald was on Letterman, he was like "Speaking of Hitler, the more I hear about that guy, the less I care for him..."

Speaking of Hitler, while I was shaving this morning, I wondered if the toothbrush mustache will ever come back in style. That guy really ruined it.

Speaking of Hitler's mustache, he originally favored a handler bar 'stache. He was ordered to trim it as a rank and file soldier in WWI so that his gas mask would fit better. He decided to keep the look.

Incidentally, his mask didn't work properly and he was sickened (temporarily blinded) due to poison gas.

there is one good thing about being older

vacation bitches! I don't work the rest of the year

(I'd trade it all to be 27 again)

I concede most of crash's points, but I'm not sure how preferring the Grateful Dead over Rush is an indication of age. Not from a musical taste standpoint, but just that Rush has been around almost as long as The Dead. It's not exactly a sign that you're on the cutting edge of new music to say that Rush is your favorite band. Quite the contrary...

What is your company's vacation policy? I've been at my current company for two years now and, at my level, we don't have a vacation or sick day policy - we just take what we want. It's a genius plan since it feels like we have a lot since we have complete control and flexibility over our away time but, as it turns out, I use less vacation than I did in my previous job.

I haven't had a real vacation day where I was not called or attended a meeting telephonically in 2 years.

I'm never truly away since I've always got my phone with me. But, when I'm on vacation, I try to disconnect as much as possible. Honestly, there is nothing that any of us are doing that is all that important that we can't be away for a few days. And, for me, I'm in complete control of my team and our agenda and almost all of what we are doing are projects that have hard deadlines and are planned months in advance so I can pretty easily arrange my schedule around busy/important times. I do something related to work almost every day of the year and definitely every night after the family goes to bed so I don't feel so bad on those few occasions when I disconnect.

I have a couple of times a year when I wouldn't plan a vacation. Luckily, most of that is in September and November when I probably wouldn't be wanting to take a vacation anyway...

Good lord. When I go on vacation, I am out. Don't call the office, don't get any calls from the office. Nada. I don't even take my phone when I go out of the country. Of course, you guys make way more caiiissshh than I do and I'm sure I'd make myself available 24/7 if I was making significantly more than I do now...
