Re: Tennessee Volunteers
And, now, apparently, according to some sources, reportedly.... Da'rick is suspended indefinitely. As the story I read stated, I guess if we have no WRs left, we really don't need a coach, do we?? I have the very distinct feeling this program is going to be headed much, much lower before (if?) it re...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Frankly, Travis Henry could outrun 98% of our current squad.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
At this point, as a Tennessee fan, you just have to watch the game (if you can) and just let it flow over you w/o really feeling one way or another about it. Though, at 35-7, with 20 minutes of football left, I may do what I think ESPN will do at any moment and switch to something else. ::: But, it'...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
OF,
I remember that every play. I doubt anyone forgets it!
Sure, we can't run the ball, our top WR and starting QB are out for the season, our DL is undersized and needs serious time in the weightroom, and our DBs show all the speed of a mid level 1AA program....but other than that....

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
10ac, Me too. And I felt guilty about it. After all the pain and adversity PSU and Joe Paterno have endured this week at the hands of the press and an overly zealous group of complaining victims......I felt guilty. After all, we must remember how much CLASS and POISE Paterno and the PSU football pro...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
We're showing signs of life today..but I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
It will be awhile before I can watch a game with the swagger I used to....

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Well, two things I have learned today: 1. It's gonna be a LONG, slow, and painful rebuilding process at Tennessee. I've reached the stage where I can watch us stink up a field and just really let it wash over me w/o feeling one way or the other about it. 2. Per ESPN (I watched a decent portion of th...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Just watched part of the game again, read some posts on Gridscape (Scout) and Volquest, thought about it some, and I think I have this figured out. I don't like my conclusions. We're just not that good of a team. We are a mediocre mid level SEC squad, with decent but not great speed, OK but not domi...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
I don't think things are quite that bad, but we clearly cannot run the ball. At all. 23 yards on 13 attempts? Wow. We were getting stuffed by Montana, so I kind of expected that against Florida. I shudder to think how we're gonna look against Bammer. Yes, Bammer Fulmers last few classes, and Kiffin'...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
A little 'weirdness' is a good thing. Otherwise you end up a large, vanilla, boring city with zero personality and no real identity, ala Atlanta.
Too much is too much, however. I think Seattle hits the sweet spot in that regard. Just enough 'weirdness' to be interesting without being irritating.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
I've driven through Portland a few times, and made a couple of day trips there to see clients, but never really seen the city. A Portland transplant I know describes it as Seattle 25 years ago in size and attitude. Growing to a larger city took a lot of the 'weirdness' out of Seattle, for good and b...

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
And, yes, the OL is pretty weak. Not getting a consistent 2 yard push against a 1-AA defense is a BAAAD sign.

Re: Tennessee Volunteers
Hack, I was getting ready for church one Sunday morning, and a show called 'Portlandia' came on some cable channel. Anyway, the theme song is pretty hillarious, and I found it on youtube. You've probably heard it, but if not it's pretty good. Is it accurate? :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVmq9d...
