Congrats to the Cavs. They have the 1st and 4th pick of the draft.

And you don't think there's anything funny about that? After everything that happened last fall?
These guys are playing you all for suckers. It's rigged. All of it, from the playoffs to the draft - ridged. Fake, phony - chose whatever word you like, but understand this, the NBA is as phony as Monopoly Money.

*** Trade is done. Omri Casspi headed to Cleveland for J.J. HIckson and a conditional first round pick.
I don't think I would have done Casspi for Hickson straight up never mind throwing in a first round pick (conditions or not). Sacramento at least somewhat made up for that dumb draft day trade where they picked up 20M in salaries on average talent

sounds like Sacramento is sending the pick... with some very heavy protection
STEIN_LINE_HQ Marc Stein
Protection specifics on pick going from Kings to Cavs: Protected 1-to-14 in 2012, 1-to-13 in 2013, 1-to-12 in 2014, 1-to-10 from 2015-2017
STEIN_LINE_HQ Marc Stein
If first-round pick is not conveyed from SAC to CLE by 2017, then Kings convey their 2017 second-rounder to Cavaliers (protected 56-60)

ok, that makes more sense. I was surprised when I read they got Hickson and a pick.
now it seems a little more balanced since they appear committed to Thompson

The Bobcats are my hell...
We re-upped for season tickets again this year because maybe, just maybe there is hope for a future. The crowds started out strong and the Bobcats played very well the first few weeks. Now, they've lost 6 in a row by an average of 13+ points including getting blown out by the Pistons at home. I'm in small market depression...

I don't think your problem is the market you're in. Your roster has no one on it that is good enough to get you through tough stretches of games...and your defense isn't good enough to weather you through.
That is a recipe for less than mediocrity.

Well, after last night's wizzing, it looks like the Bobcats are in the drivers' seat for the number one pick (hoping we don't get Timberwolfed by the pingpong balls). The Bobcats will jettison salary cap albatrosses that is Diop and Diaw leaving the team basically starting from scratch with holes to fill in every position except point guard. You are Jordan's talent advisor, the good Lord knows he needs one. What player do you take for what's basically an expansion team.
And no one give me grief about starting draft talk this early, FU

Jordan's biggest problem is that he hires out of loyalty, not out of proficiency. I expect Oakley to be their next GM.

112-68...
If Charlotte wins less than the '73 Sixers in a strike shortened season, do we get credit for the record?

That's why they make asterisks.

someone at the NBA office fell asleep when they scheduled the trade deadline on the opening day* of the NCAA tournament
the deadline should have been either today or Monday
in any case Dwight says he will pick up his player option for 12-13 and wait an extra year for FA
I dont buy it, for the brooklyn move to work he needs to make sure D-Will doesnt go to Dallas this offseason, so delaying his free agency wont work
too bad everyone will be staring at their brackets when it all goes down

D12 is just pussying out because he doesn't want to be disliked. I think ORL is getting frustrated and will trade him today, no matter, because he hasn't signed off on the waiver.
LA may actually wind up getting him if he doesn't block it.
Stern also scheduled the All Star Game during Oscar weekend. He's slipping, in general, this year. Time for the round midget to retire.
