It would actually be a no-brainer to bomb if Al Qaeda wasn't a large part of the rebel forces. It's odd to me that Al Assad would use chem weapons in the first place. He's killed many more with conventional ones.

All you have to is look to Libya and Egypt for how this will turn out.

a yoga festival - man you know they eat some berries and stew and twigs...I bet that was particularly nasty

If Assad is toppled, it won't be because we Tomahawked some landing strips and some armories around Damascus. The US doesn't want him to go. They just don't want to look like a bitch because we gave them the line they couldn't cross...and they crossed it about a half dozen times over the year. Assad is like Rick James...a habitual line stepper. The US now feels they HAVE to check him because they kept telling him to not use chemical weapons.

I still don't get why he felt the need to do so. Dude is his father's child. Some say he did it because of a failed assassination attempt that almost got him...but it was stupid for him to do it nevertheless.

If you are like me, you have not met anyone in your day to day life that is for getting involved in Syria. The only people I hear in support of this are established politicians and their media lackeys. These people, being in Washington a long time, have become too cozy with certain arab countries' leaders, friends even. I bet those "foreign policy" trips senators make to these places are pretty posh. Statements like this one Kerry makes just solidifies my belief this is all about doing these arab countries' bidding because they see him as a threat, or they need oil prices to spike again, I don't know, but it is not in this county's interest, that's for sure.
