Auburn bball fans (all 3 of them) would be ecstatic just to have a winning season next year. With Pearl, at least we'll be colorful even if we continue to suck.

Hiring Pearl is possibly the best news for Auburn hoops in my lifetime. Finally one of the other 12 schools appears to actually give a damn about hoops.

For the first time in months. But I felt like I was losing touch with Bammer Nation so I listened in today.

Dr. Strangelove wrote:It would be a kick in the nuts to beat Kentucky twice during the season, again in the SEC tourney, and then lose in the NCAA Final.
Going 4-8 was a kick in the nuts. Losing to kyjelly in the final would be ironic, but this team has been fun to watch.

Listening to Bama fans is the only acceptable reason for listening to Finebaum.

What about her?

She is (or at least used to be) a staple on the Paul Finebaum show. Their website even had a link to a page with recordings of her more memorable calls. She is indispensable to understanding the Bama fan base - a Bama fan 101 class, if you will.

Just as Tammy and Charles from Reeltown are for Auburn.

I wouldn't know. I haven't listened to the Paul Finebaum show since right after the Iron Bowl.

But if I ever want to watch Bama fans behave badly, they usually make national headlines (e.g. Harvey Updyke, Michelle Prichet, Brian Downing, Megaskeet, etc). I don't need to listen to Paul Finebaum.

I don't recall who some of those are, but considering the great number of Bama fans, those few names cannot even be considered anecdotal. Consider this:

But if I ever want to watch Christians behave badly, they usually make national headlines (e.g. Fred Phelps, pedophile priests, Jim Jones, Jimmy Swaggart, etc).

Perhaps these will stir your memory:

Brian Downing:

Megaskeet:

And of course, who can forget this?

These didn't go national like the previous three, but are honorable mention anyway:
