That 14 points might harm your stats considerably.

Bama reminds me of the really good FSU teams in the 90s. A defense that just won't let you breathe and an offense that's methodical and efficient enough to put points on the board. If it ends up being a rematch, I'll take Bama -10.

I'm still in the "you can't play for the championship if you didn't win your conference camp"; however, there is no team more deserving than Alabama. The bottom line is the rules allow Bama to play, so they should get a rematch, but I find it insulting that the same talking heads who dismissed Georgia in 2007 so adamantly for not winning the SEC are now the ones championing a rematch. Weaksauce.

Notwithstanding my reasonable objection, I am truly looking forward to the rematch.

I don't understand how this is comparable. Everyone was fighting for a chance to play Ohio State in the BCS championship game that year: Georgia was 5th in the BCS heading into the bowls. #2 was SEC Champ LSU.

Are you suggesting that #5 Georgia was done wrong because they weren't chosen over #2 LSU fresh off of drubbing Tennessee in the SECCG?

I am not comparing Bama and the 07 Dogs. The criticism is that ESPN analysts discarded Georgia in 07 when they were number 4 prior to the final ballots and BCS rankings came out because Georgia didn't win or even play for the conference title. The next day, when the final rankings came out LSU jumped from 7 to 2 and Oklahoma and USC both jumped Georgia because they won their conferences. Now, Bama is not playing for the title and the same ESPN analysts are saying VT and OSU are not worthy even if they win their conferences with one loss. It is hypocritical.

That is my criticism. My criticism doesn't change my opinion that Bama is the second best team in the country.

The arguments are different. This year, it's that the two best teams are SEC teams. In 2007, it was Ohio State was the best team; who gets to face them? If it came down to choosing Georgia or LSU to face the Bucknuts, the choice was easy.

As far as this year and the #2 spot: Bama's biggest threat for #2 is Okie State or Stanford. Okie State has no CCG. Stanford? They won't go to the CCG (Oregon faces UCLA). After that would be VaTech. They will play a Clemson team that will likely be close to being out of the top 25 - but they will still get a bump for beating them. At present, that bump will not be enough to supplant Bama unless there is a voter rebellion - which is possible.

If that happens, we'll go to the Sugar. We can't cry because we didn't win all our games.

New AP poll. 1 LSU (unanimous). 2. Alabama (unanimous). 3. Oklahoma State. 4. Stanford (separated by five points). No. 5 Va Tech.

I 100% agree with that analysis. It is just the hypocrisy that bugs me. Mark May more than anyone.

Mark May is ass hat. Just plain ass hat. I haven't seen or heard his commentary, but if it has Alabama playing anyone in the BCSCG though, he must be correct.

Just sayin'.

47-6, a national championship, an SEC championship, two SECCG appearances.

Just maybe an opportunity at another national championship.

I'll take it.

Yeah, I hate that shit too.

I still watch ESPNU a good bit, but I mute that portion. I think my favorite college football talking head show is "Inside College Football" on CBSC.

If anybody gives a shit, Alabama has increased it's hold on BCS 2 spot. Last week we were .0506 over Arkansas, now we're .0839 over OK St. What's helping us? We're now avg 2 in the computers and solid 2 in the human polls while OK St is avg 3 computers and 5 is the human polls.

We'll kick LSU's ass in a rematch...'cause this time we'll punt and let our defense outscore the bastards.
