Oh, I'm not doing that.

I'm sure that the blurb on Alabama is just as good as the one on Texas: mindless fluff.

"Also, I never advocated that a citizen 'police' - simply report a potential hazard."

That's all the police are doing when they frisk, checking on "potential" hazards (hard to know which of those last two words to put in quotation marks)...

"Im a discussion starter."

Actually, you're usually more of a discussion ender...

I was watching a news clip - kind of a mini-documentary on the development of an encryption program called Pretty Good Privacy. It was developed in 1991 - well before the explosion of the internet and terrorists communicating via email, and when it came out the government shit their pants. It was basically unbreakable by even the best hackers in the world.

Now 22 years later, its all in context to me given what the NSA is doing. I'm convinced the only way the government allowed PGP to go public is they have a backdoor in it.

Well then we should pass more loitering laws. That should solve everything. Now, you and your buddies are not allowed to stand on that street corner more than 5 minutes or else be ticketed for loitering.

Problem solved.

And well white guys in cardigans and hushpuppies aren't dealing drugs on the street corner at 2am, 7pm, 4:30pm, 8:02 CST PM, or any time. They do that shit in the country club or the office.

Now I would hope some common sense could be used at first, you know observe and report kinda stuff before questioning a young man walking down the street. Stuff like, has he walked up and down the same block for the past 20 minutes? Has he been in that same spot for that time?

"Well then we should pass more loitering laws."

I'm fine with that. Let locals people handle local issues. But the way it usually turns out is that most places that have these type of loitering laws are the places that need them the least (like one stoplight backwoods country towns full of old rednecks who don't do drugs and don't hang out on the corner at 2 am, they'll all pass these anti-loitering laws just to feel good about the power of local government)...

and, again, none of that is what SandF is about. But, I guess I can be all for switching the topic...as long as everyone understands the topic has been switched. I wouldn't want to take anything for granted.

"When I try to analyze my own cravings, motives, actions and so forth, I surrender to a sort of retrospective imagination which feeds the analytic faculty with boundless alternatives and which causes each visualized route to fork and re-fork without end in the maddeningly complex prospect of my past."

Me reporting an unattended baby in a car does not violates anyone's constitutional rights.

I'm happy to report I haven't had to deal with that again, however I did notice a former poster here on facebook reported a guy who left his cat in the car with a bowl of water and food. Turns out he'd lost his apartment and was living in the car with the cat.

That's AA slamming the car window with a crowbar. I am in the background playing the maudlin violin music...

watching the news last night, they are showing rows and rows of dead children who died in their sleep from a nerve gas attack in Syria.

The U.S. drew this arbitrary line in the sand , which I'm pretty sure they never really thought had a chance of being crossed, and these stupid fuckers do it anyways. How in the hell did they think they could hide using nerve gas in this day and age?

I can't believe that China and Russia will back them on this and the U.N. is going to condemn it, bringing France and Britain into the mix as well as the U.S.

I mean, killing children with nerve gas is no worse than a bullet but in war I guess its more acceptable, but now Obama is in a corner - he has to respond just to keep the next nickle dictactor in check.

I really don't understand why we made a proclamation we no longer take out leaders. I know we have some James Bond motherfuckers in this country , hell, we don't even need them, just drone Assad's ass and get it over, and if the next guy is crazy, drone his ass too. How many Americans and civilians have died because we won't kill the leader of a country?
