we nailed up a big piece of plywood at the intersection where everyone would see it and it said "Welcome to Hell, Mayfield"
Mayfield proceeded to curb stomp us that night

A guy that me and Stu went to high school with (graduated the same year), he played football in high school and stayed in town and went to the local college and came back and helped with the football team while he was in college and then came back and worked as an teacher and assistant coach for the football team when he graduated from college. Eventually became the head coach and athletic director of the high school. Basically has spent his entire life since 9th grade at our high school. Well, last year he retired under shady circumstances, evidently he had a huge problem buying scratch off tickets and it got to the point that he was sending students and athletes to buy scratch off tickets for him during school hours. I'm sure there's more to his "retirement" than that, but he did (does) spend a ton of money on these high dollar scratch off tickets. Well, he won a million bucks this past weekend on one. Whose laughing now?

Actually he opted for the lump sum, which was 600K, so after taxes it was just over $400K. Still, not a bad payday for a guy making no more than $50K a year...

It will be gone in short order...
Had a child custody/child support case with a guy who made over 120k per year and spent just about every spare penny he had on lottery numbers, scratch off games and Bud Light Lime. The family was living off of my client's teacher's salary while he blew his salary. He was not happy when the judge nailed him on child support and tried to claim he had no disposable income with which to pay the child support.

Why I don't like college football? Preseason games in Week 3. Besides Iowa. Holy Fuck! Tennessee and Florida play next week. Todays games will be nothing but vanilla. My Bobcats made it fun though. I guess these games are to get the backups pumped for next week. Still. That's why Sundays are better than Saturdays if you live in an NFL town. Once the season starts, it starts. You can't scrimmage during the season.

One of these days, Hugh Freeze is going to learn how to step on the throat of his opponent when he has them down.
I hope.

You gotta do better than that if you still want to play the game. That was awful.

Hugh Freeze is example #1 of the typical meathead running a college program. He can check all the boxes (like many salesmen and flim flam men) on connecting with kids, getting them to buy in, and to his credit, even in teaching them how to play and having some understanding what kind of overall strategy will help his players win, but when it comes to actually having the brains to understand tactically what is going on, manage the clock, get the football team doing the right things to win a close game, he just doesn't have it so it comes down to luck in those games.
It's been clear to me watching Ole Miss ever since we've been in the league that he doesnt have a clue, and we won our first two games against Ole Miss because he's a bumblefuck on the sidelines (and we had Manziel to win the game for us when Ole Miss put it on a platter).

I had a feeling with Bridgewater out, Adrian Peterson was going to get too many reps and blow out a knee, so in fantasy I drafted his backup McKinnon
that has been a total bust. He's earned me like .10 points so far
