Voter Suppression 2012

The voter ID crusade is nothing but an organized attempt to steal an election by patting down any voter who doesn't look or feel like a likely Republican vote. The movement itself has been exposed, over and over again, as the real fraud.

The GOP should junk it and try to win the election with actual ideas.

Almost as desperate and small as the Big Bird strategy.

Is that a denial, or a non-denial denial? Because this stuff is happening all over - but especially in the swing states. It reeks and not all of your rightwing cronies are on board with it.

Calling NC for Romney isn't much of a stretch, NC was in the "lean Romney" column for a long time. Virginia and Florida will probably be closer, but it seems pretty foolish to give them both to Romney at this point. And he HAS to win Florida to have any chance...

The amazing thing is, all of this is out in the open. The vote suppressors are eager to tell anybody and everybody what they're about and what they want to accomplish.

Truth the Vote, now active in 30 states, hopes to train hundreds of thousands of poll watchers to make the experience of voting like "driving and seeing the police following you." as one of the group leaders put it.

I just am incredulous that tick thinks there is nothing wrong with someone just being able to walk up to a polling place and vote without having show that they are who they say they are.

Amazing.

I think Sesame street is doing just fine...

Also, did you know the president of Sesame Workshop makes more than the president of the United States? We noticed that while combing through the 209 Form 990.

That year, Sesame Workshop president and CEO Gary Knell got $684,144 in reportable compensation from his job. The salary of the US president is fixed by law at $400,000, though the job does come with use of a house, Camp David, and Air Force One.

I can't remember when I have ever voted without having to show my ID. Then again I live in the capital of the SW Ohio GOP. Don't have a problem with it though.

Don't you have to show ID to register to vote? The only reason to not show the same ID is that you're not the person who registered.

Pretty sure if you have a college ID you had to show some kind of state ID to get into the school.

But no. College ID's don't have all the anti-fraud/copy features that state ID's do.

Not necessarily. School id (including High School) or something that identifies age (registration for civil service, etc)
