Owlman, hope your son is enjoying his first homecoming. I hear the kids at Yardfest went buck wild today after some performances...wild, like pushing through everyone to get a closer look at the performances on stage. I don't think anyone got hurt, though.

Wait. Is he saying what I think he's saying, that this was a meth deal with a 90 year old man?

That dude looks good for being 90 years old and shot in the head. Hell, he looks 60...

its gets better

here is an excerpt from a Feb story

When a residential burglar fired a gun at Jay Leone last month, he was initially too angry to realize he had been shot in the head, he testified Friday.

"To tell you the truth, I never felt a thing," said Leone, 90, of Greenbrae. "I said, 'F—- you, you son of a bitch, now it's my turn.'"

Whereupon he shot five bullets at the suspect from his .38-caliber Smith & Wesson snubnose revolver, hitting the burglar three times in the abdomen....................

Leone said he concocted a plan: He said he needed to use the bathroom, which is where his five guns were hidden. When the burglar refused, Leone pulled his pants down and said he would defecate on the spot.

The burglar let him leave for the bathroom but would not let him close the door, Leone said.

"I said, 'Do you like to watch people take a s—-?'" Leone testified. The burglar let him close the door, and Leone went for his Smith & Wesson snubnose.

Another one of my faves is the 5 guns in the bathroom. WTF? Who put them there, Clemenza? Were they behind the water closet?

I guess when you're a 90 years old (alleged) meth dealer, the most likely place you'd be found when an ambush happened is in the bathroom. The prostate and the kegel muscles lose their grip over the years.

I hope Brklyn has sought higher ground today. They are telling us this will be a disastrous storm. Praying it will be just an overreaction.

Higher ground being my 17th floor condo? Seriously, we've hunkered down here and I'm working from home...but still working and going strong trying to get some shit done before the bond market closes in the next 15 minutes to an hour. Most of my staff went to a BCP site in New Jersey. As long as the power stays on and the windows don't blow out I'll be fine. I'm more concerned about my kids freaking out from the storm and the noise. So, hopefully we should be good. My place is right near the river (I'm looking at downtown Manhattan now), but I'm JUUUUST outside the floodline evacuation zone...by like 500 meters...so I don't think flooding is a danger, thankfully. I expect things to be all good, I just hope I'm not being flagrantly optimistic about it.

Now you guys will know what we go thru down here about 3 times a year. Hopefully this thing will end up like most of them down here, a lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing (well, maybe a little "flooding" and some debris blowing around). Stay safe...

speaking of what Carolina goes thru, did you guys catch 60 minutes last night?

That little town, I didn't catch the name, is a ghost town after the textile mill shut down is fucking depressing. Not just a few closes shops - main street was empty. I guess it was like in the west when the silver mine ran out.

I go through it every time my condo in Hilton Head (the real Carolina) is threatened. We never get hit though. To far protected by Georgia.
