You openly claim to have "baited" Cletus on countless occasions just to get a reaction out of him, yet now you act like you're somehow above getting into a "pissing contest". LMAO...

Just b/c he thinks your belief system is childish and silly and in many ways worthy of scorn (which scorn he has demonstrated admirably and humorously) doesn't mean he wants you to change. He's just perplexed that you believe in something for which there is not a single shred of evidence, credible or otherwise. Obviously, that enrages you, to the point that you accuse him of doing something he hasn't done. Why did you lie, Fifer?
I'm not going to get into a pissing contest on it. It's a free country, believe whatever you want.

FWIW American Civil War reenactors around the world will be observing a moment of silence at 1.07 PM today. That is the time of day that the first Confederate cannons touched off on Seminary ridge south of Gettysburg, Pa to begin the doomed attack known as Picketts charge, 150 years ago this day.
What part did you play back then?

Field musician, fifer, of course. I did go to the 3 day reenactment at Gettysburg this past weekend. Had a great time. There's another one there starting tomorrow and lasting till Sunday.

Cletus wrote:How does that article imply the existence of a god or anything supernatural?

What's the difference between a god that is completely undetectable and has no measurable impact on the world (which accurately describes every god that has ever been posited) and a god that doesn't exist at all? I understand why people would want to believe in a god but I don't understand how anyone does. It makes no sense whatsoever.

supernatural in the fact that "billions of planets could potentially support life"

the supernatural aspect would be if there is life out there which is highly likely--how evolved is it? doubtful we are the most advanced species in the universe so anything beyond our comprehension i would refer to as supernatural

most would say billions of planets capable of supporting life is supernatural--certainly mind boggling

There is nothing supernatural about those planets. They are part of the natural world and have been observed and measured. There is a lot to be learned and their existence may be amazing (though I'd disagree) but that doesn't mean they are supernatural or provide any evidence that the supernatural even exists.

I thought he was an Irishman.

For your viewing pleasure, here's a movie scene I was in. One of grunts, stupid enough to drive all the way to Gettysburg, sleep in tent, and get paid $ 25 a day.

The only pleasurable part was hoping that you were one of the ones that got killed and that it hadn't been faked...
