The law requires 60 day notice of potential layoffs.
Jan 1 is when the cuts go into effect.
Friday Nov 2nd is 60 days out.
Govt is telling them to violate the law and we will insulate you from consequences. Really?

Meanwhile back at the ranch...
Princeton Economist: Obama Campaign Is Misrepresenting My Study on Romney's Tax Plan
Last night, the Obama campaign blasted out another email claiming that Mitt Romney's tax plan would either require raising taxes on the middle class or blowing a hole in the deficit. "Even the studies that Romney has cited to claim his plan adds up still show he would need to raise middle-class taxes," said the Obama campaign press release. "In fact, Harvard economist Martin Feldstein and Princeton economist Harvey Rosen both concede that paying for Romney’s tax cuts would require large tax increases on families making between $100,000 and $200,000."
But that's not true. Princeton professor Harvey Rosen tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD in an email that the Obama campaign is misrepresenting his paper on Romney's tax plan:
I can’t tell exactly how the Obama campaign reached that characterization of my work. It might be that they assume that Governor Romney wants to keep the taxes from the Affordable Care Act in place, despite the fact that the Governor has called for its complete repeal. The main conclusion of my study is that under plausible assumptions, a proposal along the lines suggested by Governor Romney can both be revenue neutral and keep the net tax burden on taxpayers with incomes above $200,000 about the same. That is, an increase in the tax burden on lower and middle income individuals is not required in order to make the overall plan revenue neutral.

Romney's debate victory spooked the mainstream media. This is why Republicans nominated him
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/timst ... nated-him/
In the last couple of days, I’ve done a lot of interviews talking about the debate. A conversation with one producer was illustrative of Romney’s battle against poor media expectations. He called just before the debate and said,
“So, I guess Obama’s going to win easily tonight. Do you want to come on and talk about it?” I replied that I’d love to but that Romney was actually the stronger debater and I’d be tipping him to win. “Really?” Yes. “Well, that is a surprise. I’m not sure people will buy it, but if you want to say that – it's up to you.”
The day after the debate he rang again. I was expecting him to say,
“Hey, you were right! Can you come on to talk about how Romney won?” Instead, he said, “Can you come to talk about how debates don’t really matter?” I sighed deeply.

DSL,
The real question on weighting and turnout models for the polls is do you really expect Oprama to exceed turnout he had in swing states this year? Prior to debate one poll had Oprama up 9 in florida, but had weighted D's with a 9% advantage when it was only 3% in 2008. You really think D's will have a 3x larger adv or even any advantage at all in turnout?
It will be interesting as we still have two more debates and I expect Oprama to come out swinging in the next one, but he still can't claim shit for the last four years. Romney is seeing the bounce because its the first time most people saw him and he presented a reason to vote for him instead of just voting against the other guy.
Latest polls from OH post debate:
Rasmussen Reports 10/4 - 10/4 500 LV 4.5 50 49 Obama +1
WeAskAmerica 10/4 - 10/4 1200 LV 3.0 46 47 Romney +1
GALLUP: 5-POINT ROMNEY BOUNCE...
POLL: Romney leads among independents 51-35...
'Enthusiasm' gap 13-point spread for Republican...

Wow, funny how the activity in this shithole has picked up the last few days. Hadn't seen most of the regulars around here for weeks and now they suddenly are all back, full of piss and vinegar. Way to jump back on the bandwagon as soon as "your" guy has the first blip of positive traction in months. LMAO. Yep, Romney has some damn staunch supporters out there...

If winning a debate means you backtrack on everything you talked about the past few months then yes, Mitt won round 1.

So you admit to being a liar in one post and then in your next post ask me to trust you. Too bad I'm not a FoxNews repub, otherwise I'd probably fall for that, b/c it sounds a lot like Mitt Romney's debating strategy...
