Will nails it.
Barack Obama, knight of the peevish countenance, illustrated William F. Buckley’s axiom that liberals who celebrate tolerance of other views always seem amazed that there are other views. Obama, who is not known as a martyr to the work ethic and who might use a teleprompter when ordering lunch, seemed uncomfortable with a format that allowed fluidity of discourse.
His vanity — remember, he gave Queen Elizabeth an iPod whose menu included two of his speeches — perhaps blinds him to the need to prepare. And to the fact that it is not lese-majeste to require him to defend his campaign ads’ dubious assertions with explanations longer than the ads. And to the ample evidence, such as his futile advocacy for Democratic candidates and Obamacare, that his supposed rhetorical gifts are figments of acolytes’ imaginations.

Part-time hires....but pop the cork anyway.
From CNBC.....
The falling jobless rate had been a function as much of the continued shrinking in the labor force as it was an increase in new positions.

From the same CNBC site...
The level of part-time workers reported the largest jump for the month, gaining 582,000.
The U-6 unemployment number, which accounts for the underemployed and those who have given up looking for jobs, held steady at 14.7 percent.

We are living in the worst time of recorded history. Never has any nation suffered as much - economically, materially, spiritually - as has America over the past 4 years. And it's not even close...
At least, that's the only conclusion any reasonable person could possibly draw by reading Titslather's posts. Sure seems like he feels that way himself, as much whining and bitching and moaning as he does. Must suck to be him...

toe can crap on the 7.8 if he must, but my republican hometown paper headline reads "Jobs Report Gives Obama a Much Needed Boost."
Sometimes you just gotta concede the point to somebody else. GOP pols said the number would never fall below 8 this year - and this has to be a major blow.

That's a 7 day rolling average poll taken from Sept. 28-Oct. 4. My guess, is that you would have to wait a few days of that poll to see the true effect of the debates.

Yeah, Oprama is so honest he would never alter the unemployment rate by illegal means.....
I mean he wouldn't even tell someone to violate federal law by not sending out the lay off notices that they are required to do.........Oh wait

Use to be if you quoted Foxnews or Rush around here, you were dismissed...now you quote the same article that the knob gobblers use...CNBC...which went on to EXPLAIN the numbers that suit the knob gobblers.....but I guess now, if the Knox News Sentinel says it's a BLOW to Romney, well, shit that's the end of the debate....kinda like Wednesday night, Obozo and his supporters just can't take a challenge to their cant, even if it's CNBC....
Tick, straight question....If the unemployment % goes down, does it always mean the economy is expanding? Can it be that fewer people are eligible/filing for claims? I really don't expect a straight answer.

"The report was in line with economists' expectations but still stocks reacted positively, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI)
rising to its highest level in almost five years to 13,662."

It's pretty bad. Even with the funny numbers (an estimate on temporary jobs from a home survey and two of the economists responsible for the report are Obama campaign donors) and people dropping out of the workforce are the reason it went down. Think about it, you could have 100% of people without a job and on gubment assistance but the unemployment rate would be "full employment".
Now Workforce Participation, let's take a look at that. That is still worse by two percentage points since Oprama took over. It is the real unemployment, it counts everyone that is able to work that has or doesn't have a job. By comparison I heard a statistic that said that while it's two percentage points worse under this administration it only a fraction of one percent worse for the Bush presidency.
But even if you just take the unemployment rate at face value then all you can say is "hey, the unemployment rate hasn't improved one bit since Obama has been president, trillions of dollars later the unemployment rate is the same as when he started".
