for the life of me I don't understand why the Mannings would choose to bring this up again - it was a dead issue.

speaking of Vol sex stuff, NPR was reporting this morning that incidents of campus rape increase by an average number of 175 on college football game day - a 41% increase if its a home game and a noticeably smaller increase if its an away game

if the team wins an unexpected victory, its good for about an additional 14 -20 rapes (all teams, all campuses)

I don't know about you guys but if I'm gonna send dick pics to impress a girl, I'm not sending *my* dick pic, I'm going to send her some porn star dick pic - or at least get a fish eye lense or some shit - you know?

I mean, you want your dick to stand out from a crowded field. Midwestern Caucasian dick ain't nothing special - maybe if you bedazzle it or something...kinda make it the Bootsy Collins of dicks - that's the look I'd go for

I thought somebody posted in here something about some chick who has created a business of taking professional dick pics for guys who want to make a good impression...

Yeah, I think that was me (or I read it here and posted it someplace else...but I think it is the former).

You win the day, eCat. Congrats. Hilarious.

Because Archie believes his anointed son more than anything in the world. Peyton lied to him and he backed him...then Archie doubled down, years later, with the new book and Peyton was too little of man to be square with his Pops (or at least say he just wanted to let it be). Good on them, though. Fuck 'em. I am actually a bit annoyed I pulled for Denver in the game...but I console myself with the fact that any group of 50+ professional athletes will have its fair share of piece of shit individuals. Peyton is just the most famous of the pieces.

no matter what logic you apply to it, it makes no sense at any level to bring this back up into the national discussion.

Matter of fact, I would have gladly given this woman an additional $300K and a lifetime supply of pizza just to make sure she stays away from a microphone.

Star athletes lose perspective like anyone else I guess.

I think we all make mistakes and either should let the past die or approach it contritely. Like eCat said, just let it go. The Peyton acolytes won't accept or believe any negatives about him, so he was safe putting whatever he wanted in the book, though.

He was 19 for God's sake. This is stupid.

Exactly. But he's not 19 anymore and dredging it up, unless he is doing so to apologize, is silly.

Exactly.

Also, yes, he was 19 when it happened...but he brought it back up with his father as grown as men in the mid-2000s and it cost that woman her career. He was 19, but the guy who was in the locker room with him that day was infinitely more mature than the 30 years old Peyton who allowed it all to be brought back up in his and Archie's book.

that book really is a fluff piece --i'm surpised archie smeared the girl/teacher to the author and im really surprised archie being an nfl football player for many years would have given a shit if a white girl was sleeping with a black guy.

I think the book was written in 2003 or so was archie that much of a bigot that he thought saying those words was somehow character assassination

anybody ever hear archie being a bigot before

Archie is from 1950s Mississippi. His best intentions cannot escape that marinade.

If racism was good enough for Atticus Finch, it's good enough for Archie Manning...

Well, I'm not racist either. Some of my best nannies are white.

Well, my nanny line is a retread but it was probably 3 years ago...beyond the statute.

Besides, it's totally true. Anna will always be my kids' favorite.
