Heh. Very true. Notable exceptions: Jim Morrison and Jimi.

and Janis and Winehouse and that kid from Sublime and I'm sure there are others. However, I'm positive Ozzy should be dead...and maybe did die somewhere in 89 or 90.

Janis and Winehouse I didn't really think of as "rockers". I'm not really up on Sublime, but your point was a good one. Look at some of the walking zombie rockers. EVH/DLR, Gene Simmons, Ozzy, Mick/Keith Richards, Steven Tyler, Nugent, Angus Young (Bon Scott would be an exception), etc.
The most prominent "rocker" who has died recently is, of course, Bon Jovi (RIP).

Layne staley's gotta be more famous than Bradley Nowell, right? Although I guess people know Nowell because he was dead even before Sublimes major breakthrough.

Layne Staley had the most powerfully haunting voice of all time. I still miss him with the Chains.

most of those fuckers who kicked the bucket just didn't know how to do drugs. I mean, I went a good 10-12 years partying hard and I'm still here. in fact, my health has declined since I quit partying about 7 years ago. I was nimble and quick from smoking the rock and weed and now I'm fat and decaying like eCat.

Hate to hear Etta has died. Great voice and had an interesting life with some deep valleys and sorrows and some incredible peaks.

I'd heard that she was ill but didn't realize that it was so severe.

She had leukemia and has been sick for awhile. I'm surprised she lasted this long.
