10ac wrote:My Saturday basically sucked. I'm building an extention on by deck and to make a long story short, my 3 yr old grand son fell through a section were I had removed some decking ( an area abot 10 inches by 2 feet) and fell to the concrete 12 feet below and was almost followed by my 2 year old granddaughter. I heard the commotion, ran up the stairs and saw her about to step out of the door (and into the hole) I yelled at her and looked through the hole and saw him laying face up and not moving. I thought he was dead. I can't describe the feeling. His dad ran over and picked him up, I know not a good idea, but...., then he started crying. We rushed him to the emergency room and they had him air flighted to Vanderbuilt Children's Hospital, who by the way saved my other granddaughter's life about 4 years ago.

His scull is fractured from just behind his ear to the back lower, center of his his head but he has no brain or spinal damage, or internal injuries. I spent a sleepless weekend in the Children's Hospital waiting room.

So, needless to say, any wins from here on out is just gravy. And losses? eh...
Damn 10ac. That sucks to put it mildly. I'm sure you were thinking the worst.

Damn glad the prognosis is good and there wasn't something sharp laying on the ground where he fell.

And you are so right on having to watch the kids like a hawk. Hell the roofers are here now so we have to be super careful with nobody allowed outside until they are done and cleaned up all the nails. A kid could walk out from under right when someone is throwing something down.

Sheesh I don't even like to think how you felt when you saw him. That adrenaline probably got dumped in your system by the fing gallon.

Damn good news on the prognosis. Keep us informed.

You remember back in 2006 Fulmer had Asumnu from the bball team doing the same thing in practice and was a foot higher than Meachem for fucks sake, but he NEVER let him do it in the damn game. Not even when UF kicked the PAT to go up by 1. Lost my mind on that. The guy is 6'6" and had a 40 inch vertical and they didn't use him in a game for that? REALLY? Yet they had him in on punt coverage? PUNT COVERAGE??????

JMFA by Fulmer. At least Dooley will use the tools at his disposal. Remember when UK had someone similar in early to mid 2000s? Guy blocked 6-7 kicks that year.

Where is OSHA when you need them?

He's back to his old self today. He and Mom are going to stay with us for a couple of days so Nana can help keep tabs on him. Watching them wheel his little self out to the chopper and it take off with him without his mom or dad was just about the saddest thing I have ever seen. If that doesn't break you down, nothing will.

Thanks for the thoughts.
