Speaking of black bears, I watched Ghost Dog last night. Hadn't seen that in awhile. Good flick...

"I prefer the alternative scenario: Kenyon Martin tending to his pecan orchard like Marlon Brando did to his oranges in The Godfather."

Oranges?

There were oranges throughout the Godfather films.

You know, the improv scene where Brando chases around the gay grandson?

There were dozens of scenes with oranges in the films, I would guess. Many have speculated on the symbolism that FFC was going for. Some think he just liked the splash of color. idk, but I have noticed them and there was talk about them.

22 scenes, and apparently, according to FFC, it started as an accident, but they began using them as a way to indicate death or violence for the person with/near the orange:

Yes, but I don't recall him tending any oranges. Tomatoes, yes, but I don't recall oranges...

According to the site AA posted, only 7 appearances of oranges in G1 (they even kinda cheated by listing Brando buying the oranges and then the oranges spilling when he gets shot as two different instances). The guy did specifically mention Brando tending oranges, limiting anything he may have had in mind to G1 only, which is what confused me. I really think he meant tomatoes and was attempting some kind of sass toward Kenyon Martin as a poor orchard husbandman by making reference to Brando destroying his tomato patch when he dies (orange slice in mouth)...

13th best team in the country goes for their 12th win of the year tomorrow night. I'll be at a Vegas Sportbook watching it happen.

22nd in points per game, 8th in field goal percentage!

He definitely conflated the tomatoes and the oranges. I did the same thing, actually.

Wait, I just went back and read the posts. Why "gay grandson"? Did that come out in G3? Otherwise, I would ask why you attack a poor, innocent little WOP guinea dago kid like that? (Sorry, I never could keep the derogatory terms for people of various Euro descent straight. See, that's what I like about Africans: One color (more or less), one derogatory word. Simple)...

in G3 the kid gets into ballet, opera or piano playing or something like that

i'm not sure if they say it outright but he's definitely got femme qualities

Yeah, that's where I was going with that one.

The one Kate killed probably would have been a proper Don.
