Funny because it looks like Jeter is telling him that yes, the count is correct on the number of testicals he's reviewing.

I know that folks keep referring to the Rays as "dangerous," but if I'm the Tigers or RAngers, I'd much rather play them than the Red Sox.

Why?

The Rays starting pitching is so much better than the Sox right now...

Tigers have owned the Rays this season. Moreover, they have virtually nobody who can hit in that lineup. Plus, I'll take two home games with Verlander and Fister (or Scherzer) versus the Rays and then a road trip to cavernous Devil Dog Stadium than the opposite at Yankee Stadium.

The Bartman 30 on 30 or whatever its called was fun to watch.

The kid has character. He's turn down well over $300K in offers, stayed in Chicago and tries to be anonymous.

Turning down $300k doesn't mean you have character; it means you're daft.

well maybe, but the kid can generally walk around in public and as long as he doesn't say his name he isn't bothered.
That wouldn't be the case had he went the 15 minutes of fame route.

I remember watching that game with my best friend who used to post on worldcrossing as JoeWalsh. When the Bartman thing happened, he looked at me as serious as a heart attack and said "There it is. That is what I was waiting for. The Cubs are going to lose this series." I laughed at him and then it all fell apart. I was stunned.

For $300K+ I can stand the ignominy, comments, jeers, sass. Hell, I put up with that for free here.

For $300K+ I can move to a new city, change my haircut, get Lasik surgery to lose the glasses, and move on with life without anyone knowing the difference. Anyone says anything about your name, take the approach of Michael Bolton from Office Space.

The Rays drew like 19,000 on Monday for their game against the Yankees. The Astros drew more than that at home versus the Cardinals and there is absolutely NO reason to watch the Astros versus anybody. I know the economy is bad but Tampa/St. Pete is big enough to do much better than that for a critical home game, even if it's a weeknight. You should be getting at least 30 grand for each of these. Hell, the retirees from New York / New Jersey alone are going to give you a head start by coming 5-6K strong.

If Gator were here, I'd give him what for.

What always amazies me about that sequence is the free pass (relatively? I guess someone somewhere gives him some of the blame right?) that Alex Gonzalez gets for his role in it.

Bartman's an easy person to blame. That being said, if Bartman isn't in that seat, someone else is there and probably does the exact, same thing. Or the guy next to Bartman who's also reaching for the ball knocks it out of Alou's glove.

EIther way, the Cubs had another game and a half to not blow that series and they still blew it.

The Cubs gave up 1 run, I guess, at best because Alou didnt have a "chance" at catching what would have only been out #2 in the inning. They gave up SEVEN more fucking runs primarily because their shortstop buckled and couldn't field a double play ball.
