75% chance the Super Bowl winner makes history this year:

No team ranked outside the top-25 in offense has ever won the Super Bowl (San Francisco)

No team ranked outside the top-25 in defense has ever won the Super Bowl (New England)

No team has even won the Super Bowl without at least 10 regular-season wins (New York Giants)

The Ravens are the only team that 'historically'/traditionally would have a chance to win the Super Bowl this year.

and, obviously, the NFC representative (regardless of S.F. or NYG) would be fighting history...

Still moving the goalposts, I see. When it comes to league MVP trophies, I'll put it to you in terms you can understand: 4>2.

And what was erroneous about what I posted? Do tell. All of the stats I posted were facts. You can check them for yourself. As far as I know they are 100% accurate. Sure, I sprinkled some opinion in there, but I probably provide a couple dozen irrefutable facts for every one that you cite. Probably more. And you ignore or dismiss them all. Now you're saying erroneous. So tell me what wasn't true.

And while you're at it, answer my question about why, despite playing better than he ever has in his career, it's been 8 years since Brady won his last SB? If winning SBs proves he's the best -- and if he's better now than ever -- then why no recent SBs?

It's a fair question.

it simply disproves your assertion that he plays on the 'greatest team in the NFL'.

hesitant to think Alex Smith has three straight good playoffs games in him.

of course, New Orleans, NYG and New England would be three straight 'bad pass defenses'.

if he faced the Ravens in the Super Bowl....i'd have a hard time 'expecting success' from him.

Never said greatest team in the NFL. The fact that he has played his entire career for "the most dominant team of his era" is not really in dispute. Having apparently introduced you to the concept that TEAMS win games and championships in football (not individuals), let me introduce you to an equally old, common and generally-accepted concept: the best team does not always win. And I'm sure the Pats haven't been the best team every year -- just the most dominant over the stretch of time we are discussing. This logic is consistent with the Pats not winning a SB in the past 8 seasons.

And the real answer to my question is obvious. The Pats' roster has changed over the years. They haven't stayed the same and neither have their opponents. And since TEAMS win SBs, the Pats' TEAMS that won those SBs haven't stayed the same. But Tom Brady has been a constant. If he really deserves all the credit for winning those SBs -- so much credit that you are willing to annoint him as the greatest ever to play the QB position, based solely on that one achievement, then why hasn't he done it lately, when he has been at the top of his game?

And I'm still waiting for you to tell me what I posted earlier that was erroneous. Something tells me I'm going to be waiting a looong time. But that's okay. I'm used to you ignoring facts.

That would be 4 for the Pats. If they win it will be because they are the best team. And if they lose, it won't invalidate all of Brady's other accomplishments this season.

Hacksaw wrote:I was particularly impressed with Brady's 5 sacks against Tebow. Man, Brady had Timmy running for his life out there. By comparison, Brady wasn't sacked once. He was able to stand in the pocket and calmly go through his reads. It's amazing how he can play QB and pass block on every position of the OL at the same time. He's amazing!

...and don't even get me started about his 146 yards running the ball or 5 yards per carry average.

Tom Brady: the greatest NFL team ever!

Sooo...nothing I said was erroneous. I'm glad we've settled that.

And none of the facts and stats I've posted have been refuted. So, once again, I have proved that Peyton Manning > Tom Brady. Like taking candy from a baby, complete with the non-stop crying.

Brady and Manning both drove their teams in FG range at the end of playoff games. You slam Manning and tout Brady even though they did the exact same thing. Neither kicked the FG's in those games.

Did Kelly choke when Norwood missed the FG or did he do his job by getting in position to kick it?

With you wtf knows. It depends on if you like Kelly or not. Like him and Norwood is the choker. Dislike and you'll say it was Kelly.

Pretty pathetic.

I've said it many times, if Vinateri (sic? look it the fuck up you lazy bastards), pulls a Norwood in those SBs that the Pats won, everyone would refer to Brady as Jim Kelly Version 2.0 and the Pats as the Buffalo Bills. They would say the division is cursed or some shit.

That being said, it didn't happen that way. That is why it is a team sport.
