In my old age, I've mellowed. It's hard for me to get too upset because of the actions (or inactions) of a field full of 18-22 year-old college kids playing ball.

Im still in my thirties so I am not there yet. Much better than I used to be, but I still get too emotionally invested in the games.

That was actually funny. The exception that proved the rule.

I assure you she found a real man to get with after the game, not some pussy that cries over a football game.

Fuck. I didn't cry after Saturday's loss (which was important in our state but certainly no one else cared), but I was an angry mother fucker. I refused to go out that night. I stopped drinking during the game, sobered up and left Raleigh at 9:00 p.m.

Fuck you, John Shoop.

to be fair, after 4 in a row number 5 couldnt have been all that surprising or upsetting. Bama otoh has different expectations.

Only if he bought her an expensive dinner, then got her drunk, said he loved her, told her she was beautiful, and said he was independently wealthy.

True, they have far loftier expectations (expectations on par with what Carolina expects in basketball) but they did lose six in a row to Auburn from 02-07.

Speaking of pre-marital sex, how is Prof, Jr. doing at Auburn? Is the middle child at Illinois?

Yes, he will graduate this summer with a degree in English. Then he will hit the the job market, which I predict will eventually result in graduate school.
Is the middle child at Illinois?
Yes. He's a sophomore studying ag economics. The job market will probably be more hospitable to him than to his brother. We'll be joining him at the U of I vs. Michigan game this Saturday in Champaign. I'll be the one wearing orange and blue.

How's the budding law practice going? How are the Tar Heels looking?

The law practice is going well, and you can watch Carolina at 7:00 p.m. EST on Friday night as they play Michigan State on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson. The Tar Heels will be respectable, but the lack of a legitimate back-up pg is worrisome...

Next time I'm visiting Mom in Pittsboro I'll buy you a beer at the Carolina Brewery. You can wave at your former employer across the parking lot.

I drove by there not too long ago. I was saddened to see that it had not burned to the ground.

That can be arranged. Some of my "parishioners" have experience in that area...
