Most of the city is dead. UAB (the University and the Hospital) keeps it alive.

What if nobody in here supports you? Do you see where I'm going with this?
The above doesn't make sense, not because I wrote it, though....

Someone just edited my post to this. Editing another's words has always been the lowest form of board debate. It's a sign that the person you are arguing with has lost the argument and uses admin power to wipe a post away. It's unacceptable.

Hedge did it (which should be obvious from the content). As a mod the "Edit" button is on the upper right with the "Quote" and delete buttons and all that. He probably accidentally hit edit instead of quote. Both buttons take you to a page that look pretty much the same, so its hard to tell that you hit the wrong button and are editing the old post rather than posting a new one with a quote. Probably innocent mistake.

Sorry, it was me. I tried to highlight just the part I quoted ("If UAB students and alums won't support it, it should die."), but when I pasted it, it was the whole post, so I deleted everything but the part I wanted to quote. Evidently what I had done was hit the edit button by mistake, thinking I had hit the quote button, so I was actually in your post. Sorry about that, I was kinda confused at what was going on when it happened, now I see. Again, not intentional...

I thought I had highlighted and copied the part I wanted, but evidently I hit the edit button as well by mistake...

Um, or else someone (me) made a silly mistake. Step away from the ledge, AA...

I haven't even commented on this whole UAB "debate" b/c I really don't care about it at all. To intentionally edit your (or anybody's) post just to make a silly quip about you dying off (esp. when no editing was necessary to get it in), or really, for any reason at all, is something I have never done and would never do...

Hedge,

If you're not competent enough to post, how are you competent enough to have mod powers?

Hell, aTm, you might as well give mod powers to Rat or some blind, mentally retarded handicapped boy with Parkinson's who is missing 8 of his fingers. Same diff, really.

You don't have the temperament to be a mod. You immediately jumped to the conclusion that you had been deliberately savaged, rather than consider the other possibilities. You're too emotional, with a persecution complex to boot. It won't do. OTOH, I try to see the best in people, try to foster what is best within them. I'm slow to anger, quick to forgive. It was no doubt a rigorous selection process for aTm, but I think he made the right choice...

You are a barely literate corn merchant. You communicate with a series of clicks and whistles similar to a guy in this area born with anacephalus, who makes his living selling boiled peanuts near the offramp of I-65. The difference is Bobby The Peanut Guy is generally affable. You, in your limited way, lash out at those better than you.

It's sad, really.

not even the most serious rube of a state congressman would demand a home and home as part of the deal for UAB.
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

Commonwealth Stadium update... Pretty nice... now if they just had a decent football team to put on the field.

You'd think that, wouldn't you? It's not the case, though. We used to play SoMiss regularly. We stopped because they thought we should go to that 33K seat stadium in Hattiesburg on a home and home. We, of course, refused; they got their feelings hurt and stopped playing us regularly.

UAB would too. The difference is, UAB is an instate school that some feel Bama should provide welfare to. This would be an extension of that.

I didn't give Hedge any mod powers. I merely set him up with the same powers he always had in this forum at the old place.
