Trying to find the link to the interview where Oprama said he would raise taxes even if it decreased revenue as a matter of "fairness" to redistribute the wealth. I can't find it but saw it on the WC site.

I find lots of videos of him on ABC saying it in a debate but he wasn't as clearly socialist in that one. I am looking for the one where it was just him and an interviewer and he just out and out said taxes should be used for more than just the money needed to run the gubment.

That's all they got against Ryan? Talk about desperate grasping for irrelevant straws.

Even Fox busted him for all of the untruths he racked up in his convention speech. And then he blatantly lies about his one and only marathon? It's like the guy went from Mr. Straight Talk to Paul-Paul-Pants-on-Fire.

Oh. But PR is your fave.

and btw - that was a WSJ article...hardly a "they"

Serious Pants-on-Fire. The flames are melting his belt buckle yet the guy will look you in the eye and say his pants are indeed NOT on fire.

With the masses, truth has NEVER mattered in an election. Charisma? Sure. Good looks? Yep. Slandering the opposition? Most assuredly. Telling people what they want to hear, even if you told another group the exact opposite? Definately.

It's the way things work.

I don't see how Ryan will ever recover from marathongate. It's not like he promised to lower the sea level or the unemployment rate.

The marathon was the LEAST of it of course - the funniest. Not so much the other stuff.

The GOP's newly minted Boy Wonder, just 42, bent or ignored the record on issues ranging from Medicare, to President Obama's debt-reduction commission, to the closing of a GM plant in his Wisconsin hometown, to the beneficiaries of federal stimulus spending - according to a couple of fact-check organizations and news outlets such as the Los Angeles Times and the Washington Post.

LMAO.

Someone else might as well say,

Barack Hussein Obama is a foreign-born Moozlum atheist communist according to a couple of fact check organizations like the Heritage Foundation, as well as news outlets such as Rush Limbaugh and Fox news.

I was listening to NPR this past weekend and there are 30+ fact checking organizations and just about all are hired by campaigns so Im sure you can get a fact checking group to say what you want on an item.

All this small inconsequential fibs does not even compare with the biggest lie being perpetrated to the masses. The lie that says we can balance the budget by taxing the rich more. Not only is it the biggest lie, but the most dangerous.

Ever since the Rupert Murdoch/British tabloid scandal, there's been a noticable shift in stories coming out of the UK. Like this Daily Mail piece, for instance (and yes I've ridiculed these people many times in the past).

Paul Ryan's Black Ex-Girlfriend Deneeta Pope 'Spent Five Months in Prison for $77,000 Fraud - Daily Mail (but did he know this when he attended her wedding in May?)

The two factcheckers, FactCheck.org and PolitiFact seem to suit you at times. Funny how that works.

I don't believe I've ever quoted Factcheck.org or Politifact on any topic.

But I agree with Sardis that fact checkers are mostly campaigns under cover. They're like tobacco scientists and MMGW scientists. They tend to start with the desired conclusion of their benefactors then and winnow out evidence to support it.

I get it. Your momentary euphoria overrode your natural instincts with respect to politicians.

No sense compounding that small felony, however.
