The Cutcliffe thing? Not much too it really...he obviously was unhappy with FSU after the ACCCG and as you can see, did the obligatory handshake then GTFO. Jimbo was leaning in for the "good game coach" but Cut was gone before he could blink.
The funny thing is his team was the dirtier bunch in the game, not sure what his beef was other than "running up the score".

What did you want Cutcliffe to say? As far as Fisher is concerned, the only thing Cutcliffe should have said (from a sportsmanship and ACC comrade standpoint would be...)
Congratulations coach. Beat the hell out of Auburn.
That would have been enough, certainly all he had to say with a simple handshake. Short and sweet.
A long conversation? How might that have gone? I know!
Congratulations coach. Your team of larger and faster 4 and 5 star recruits absolutely beat the hell out of my team of smaller and slower 2 star recruits. Well done, you just reamed our @ss. You ran up the score needlessly to show a nationally televised audience just how much you could out-athlete us in every aspect of the game, you cocksucker you. Try coaching the kind of team I have and see how easy it is.
That would have been a longer conversation to be sure, but perhaps that would have made Jimbo Fisher happy?

I don't think Jimbo was mad, just surprised at Cut's lack of sportsmanship. No big deal, he's always been kind of an asshole and just helped further his reputation that day. He'd made disparaging comments about FSU's coaches the last time we played them in the regular season.

Just got back from Jerry's World.
Fantastic stadium and a nice showing by Nole fans.
Post game analysis:
1) Disappointed in the running game. Hopefully the flu bug explains some of that.
2) Winston needs to spread the ball around. I know Greene is his security blanked but gonna have to find some other targets he trusts.
3) Special teams definitely needs some work.
4) Beef brisket nachos are fantastic!!!!!!

With regard to the punting, Jimbo proudly announced at the beginning of the year that all of his scholarships since he's been there have been 4 year schollies, so he can't revoke Beatty's...and he's not about to waste another scholarship on another punter. So we're stuck with him this year and next, unless a walk-on or kid on campus can come and get the job done (Gerry Thomas, shudder). Apparently he absolutely demolishes the ball in practice and warmups but when the play is live, he sucks ass.
It's sad, really.

gotta give OSU all the credit in the world for how well they played - also they may be one of the fastest teams we will play this year - the Citadel needs to be a tune up where no starters get hurt or play in the 2nd half

FSU is not winning it again. Write it down in permanent ink. No gonna happen.

KeviNole wrote:To recap:
OL - flu all week, one with a swollen hand due to a spider bite. Key DL - out with academic issue. RB - grandmother died day of game. QB - lost two great receivers to the NFL and apparently thinks they were not replaced in the lineup. In addition, we have an extremely talented LB who hasn't practiced all fall with a mysterious ankle injury but not wearing a boot (B.S.) And our coach thinks it's a great idea to burn all his timeouts in the first five minutes of a half.
I'm just glad we get Clemson early before they figure out their offense/QB situation. But if our OL doesn't come to play (hopefully it was just the illness causing the problems last night), Clemson's DL will eat our lunch.
on top of all that I understand that Winston's girlfriend (from high school and plays basketball at Baylor) had a locker room pass and was in giving Jameis shit about some other girl she heard he was fooling with - she made such a commotion that she was removed from the locker room and had her pass taken away
and the beat goes on...

Dook has long played dirty. They are the kings of late hits and hitting low.

We watched him warm up before the game on saturday and this is true - he was killing the ball - in fact I thought we had found someone else to do the job - but then he put his jersey on and I realized it was Beatty - must be some mental shit going on there because he was crushing it.

It would be like if IB wrote interesting stuff in a diary and then comes in here and... well, you know...

Starting? I'd say he's been that way for quite a while.
Hey hedge, here's a hint:
contribute to the site with actual content at least once in a while (don't just be a smart ass.)

Would have been nice to play a team that wasn't out to destroy our DL's knees, but fortunately we have a bye week before Clemson. If the game was this weekend, I'd say Clemson takes it but I like our chances with the bye.
I wonder if we'll press the outside when Stoudt is in the game and make him hit some downfield passes - he seems very accurate but not the strongest arm in the world. I don't think that strategy will work with Watson with his elusiveness in the pocket and stronger arm. I wish our DL was a bit more proven at this point but they'll need to step up big time next weekend.

Just to add something to an earlier conversation, David Cutcliffe's problem with Florida State's coaching staff goes back a little farther than last year's ACC title game. He took issue with FSU's strength coach Vic Viloria's conduct during the 2012 FSU-Duke game, and even went on Twitter to call Viloria a "court jester," which sparked a little online sniping between the two staffs. I don't remember what Viloria did that upset Cutcliffe, but he's not usually the sort to call out other coaches. I understand FSU being miffed at Cutcliffe's lack of sportsmanship, but I think Cutcliffe saw himself as retaliating in kind.
