Apparently, Mizzou is making a push to come to the SEC with aTm (that is if we decide to let those jackboot-wearing Nancys in with us).

They should take North Carolina as the 14th team. Almost a no-brainer.

Texas does NOT want to go independent.

Interesting, I guess.
"I do not think this Legislature ought to penalize people that are going on and being successful in maximizing their assets and getting a higher return and finding revenues that are not a tax base." - Rep. Dan Branch, House Committee on Higher Education, 2/23/11 re:The Longhorn Network
I certainly will do everything I can to make sure that people who take care of their institutions and raise them up and bring in more revenues and create value that somehow that wouldn't be a detriment as they go through the appropriations process." - Rep. Dan Branch, House Committee on Higher Education, 2/23/11 re:The Longhorn Network
http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1251051
"Ultimately, these are public institutions," Branch said. "The Legislature is responsible for funding and directing the ultimate policy of our public institutions.

"So I think it's important that the Legislature be advised. And so I want to create an opportunity on a timely basis to give the members of the House of Representatives the opportunity to ask questions and make sure they felt like this was in the best interest of the state of Texas.

"There's an argument that going to the SEC would be a good thing so that Texas' biggest schools would have a footprint in two major conferences, so I'm going into this with an open mind. But it seems to me it's the regents' responsibility to do what's in the best interest of Texas A&M as the flagship of that system. And it's the Legislature's responsibility to make sure it's in the best interest of the state of Texas."

Branch said there are really two points of interest that are critical to the state's view of a possible move by Texas A&M to the SEC.

"Part of that goes to you don't want another major conference coming undone by the action of one," Branch said. "So there's two parts to this. One, is this a good move for Texas A&M?

"And, more importantly, from our vantage point would there be a negative consequence to the University of Texas or Texas Tech University and even our private schools like Baylor - what effect it could have on them?"

I love that the weak sisters (hell, maybe even Texas themselves) are going to go through the Leg. to see what they can do. I'm sure if the higher education committee somehow is convinced there is an issue here, that when the Legislature meets for the next time in January 2013, they can put a nice lively discussion about how A&M did in the SEC during the 2012 football season onto the agenda. Failing that they can try to convince Rick Perry to call a special session distracting from his Presidential hopes and the purpose of which would be to mess with his alma mater. Good luck Bear, 'Horn, Raider politicos, you cant do shit.

Maybe Texas, Notre Dame, BYU, Army, and Navy can compete for the "No one gives a fuck" trophy.

No, ND, Army, Navy and Air Force shouldn't risk sharing the CnC with anyone else.

unc will not leave a conference that caters to almost their every whim to join the sec where they'd be not only just another school but the new kid on the block. short of the conference disentegrating unc isnt going anywhere, not will they allow nc state to leave if the sec should invite us. (not that they would)
U*NC is the cleanest most honest athletic program on the planet. I am jealous of their deserved success, and I'm a mewling cunt.

Bengals against Detroit. The only question is which one is worse? Ford Field looks like, if the roof caved in no one would get hurt. Must be the Bengals Detroit going though them like shit through a goose. I can't think of anything more utterly fucking hopeless than the Bengals. Commerical over back to the Reds.

Down 24-3 at haltime to the LIONS!!, and this is the first team?? Lewis looks like he's already lost hope. This could be the worst team in NFL history. Paul Brown is weeping in heaven at what a rotten disaster his son has made of his franchise. Mike Brown will burn in hell for the way has cheated this city.
