There were rumors--credible ones--that if the ACC fell apart, the administration wanted to go to the Big10, not the SEC. The SEC would kill to have UNC, and the SEC has informed the powers that be of this. However, UNC is worried about its academic reputation in light of the scandal, and the Big10 would be the first bailout option. UNC will hang onto the ACC until the very end though due to all of the historical ties.

Personally, part of me would love to see UNC in the SEC, but UNC doesn't have the dedication to football it would need.
I think they would do better immediately in the BIg10 compared to how they would fare in the SEC, but I think recruiting would take a big hit long term.

That's not something you usually hear with regard to a school going to the SEC...

Sure it is. Except at Auburn. I think that's why we want UNC. So they'll have company.

This is stupid. There are only TWO TEAMS in all of the ACC that the SEC is even remotely interested in taking to expand to 16. And one of those teams is in South Carolina, the other, the panhandle of Florida. That's it. The SEC does NOT want UNC.

Wrong. The SEC doesn't want Clemson, really. Doesn't significantly expand their footprint or TV deal. North Carolina and Virginia would be the number one targets.

I thought it'd be BC and Wake

BC is not good enough to invest in that TV market. I can understand Virginia though. Upcoming team with flaws plus it's a major NASCAR Market which fits the SEC mold. South Carolina ain't leaving the SEC. That comment was almost as dumb as any of Wizards posts since the internet was born.

UNC does nothing either for the SEC. Besides the NASCAR thing which down there is everywhere. UNC as a football program is at MAC level.

UNC's shittastic defense is going to get gashed by a pissed off GT team.

" My problem, although I understand the reasoning, is why don't they run Marquis on those QB draws that he had so much success with last year. Even the USC QB was gaining good yardage and first downs running, and Marquis is way better at it than that guy. I realize the staff wants to assign that duty to the running backs, but when you have a weapon like Marquis (a big, solid QB who can run very well), I think you should use it..."
Looks like the UNC coaching staff is reading this thread...

Well, they gave up 200 yards of rushing on GT's first three drives.
