mannings bonus is due march 5th

kolb is due 7mil about the same time

if manning is cut he wants to go to a contender obviously who doesn't already have a locked in qb

that cuts the list to washington/miami/zona maybe seattle maybe KC

most contenders obviously are set at qb

the question is who could be a contender that isn't

Any team with Manning would be a contender. The Colts proved that this season.

Rickart, the Lame Excuse Hall of Fame called. You're in! First ballot. They want to devote an entire wing to you.

Arizona is not a contender. Just a nice place to live out your last contract.

i stopped reading puterbac's post as soon as he mentioned Tebow.

good grief, Tebow has nothing to do with a discussion about Brady being better than Peyton, or defending why Brady has developed a reputation for clutch play in the playoffs...

Another idiot who can't deny that Manning has been better at the position by the measurable stats, but still wants to insist that Brady is the better QB because the Pats have had the better team. I noticed that he didn't mention that the Pats lost more games in Brady's first year back than they did when his backup was playing in his place. I also notice he didn't point out how bad the Colts have proven themselves to be without Manning -- something that was not the case with the Pats when Brady was out.

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and that's all that was: someone's opinion -- and one not supported by much of an argument.

Nothing about this topic grates on me -- except when people argue passionately without facts and logic to back it up. I don't think I was even consciously aware of The Tuck Rule Game until 2 or 3 years ago. I seem to vaguely recall the controversy at the time.

One thing is for certain, though: if the refs had not saved the Pats that day, your beloved Brady wouldn't have the 3 rings you're always bragging about. Hell, he might not have any. The Pats players must have believed they were a team of destiny after that Lazerus moment. God knows it seems to have had the opposite effect on the Raiders. ESPN is doing a report on the anniversary today and one of the Raider vets they interviewed said it was like the Pats stole all of whatever magic the Raiders had that day.

I thought it was interesting to hear the officials' account of how it happened. After initally getting the call right -- and the Raiders' offense and Pats' defense already on the field to play out the remaining time -- the replay booth called down, just in time to keep the next play from starting. The replay official told the field ref that it was a really important play and they better get it right (which they already had). Then they looked at the replay from one angle and immediately over-ruled the original ruling. Raider fans could be forgiven for suspecting foul play. Seems it was important to make sure the Pats got a chance, without much consideration for being fair to the Raiders.

The report also featured a curious comment by the head ref who said that the outcome of the game wasn't about the tuck rule call, but about what the Pats did with the remaining time, scoring the FG to tie in regulation, then going on to win in OT. This comment strains credulity. Bear in mind that the call kept the Raiders from taking over with 1:43 left and the Pats having no timeouts. It's amazing that the ref would try to argue that the tuck rule call didn't effect the outcome. Sounds more like a delusional Patriots fan than an unbiased observer.

if stats are what you base your opinion on, rather than accomplishments, then enjoy all those 300-yard passing days against the Jags and the Titans, by all means...

Accomplishments like league MVP awards? Come-from-behind victories? Pro Bowl appearances? Being ranked 3rd-highest all-time in every major statistical category that exists for your position? Number of playoff appearances playing for a team that is the worst team in the NFL when you're not out there taking snaps?

You mean accomplishments like that?

Or are you still referring to TEAM accomplishments and trying to use them to support your otherwise non-existant argument?
