I consulted with the Staubach franchise/office here. Roger had some pretty smart guys working for him, but he was a great executive and created a great structure that allowed many people in his organization to profit from ownership in the business. They definitely timed their sale at the right time.

I grew up with his nephews & nieces in our crowd. We all lived within play distance back in those days. 10 miles. His sisters kids. He was always nice and made us play him and his brother in law on the backyard basketball court. I sucked (still do) at basketball. Back then I knew he played for the Cowboys but it wasn't as big a deal back then that it would be if DS bumped into him.

But the best thing I remember him doing was when he found out his nephew, who was a huge Dukes Of Hazzard fan came down with cancer at 13. He had whoever he knew an exact to the T replica of their car and gave it to him. Of course he could only drive it on their property but whenever he wanted to hit the real road he'd make his brother drive him around in it and he'd just sit it the passenger side looking out the window. When we saw the car on the road we knew he was feeling good. He's still alive today and still has that car.

I also lived down the street from Gerry Faust.

Too bad you weren't playing on their property when he was driving around in that car...

The Bengals are going to get killed tomorrow night and then shit a brick in Pittsburgh next Sunday night. They suck in Prime time. No playoffs this year. Just not gonna happen. They are not that good under pressure.

Hmm, it seems that Tom Brady only beats Peyton Manning in real football games and not Goat Pen fantasy league finals.

I think my teams are now officially the Buffalo Bills of the goat pen league. I think this will be my third runner up finish.

I like how they were interviewing Dalton after the game - a game in which he threw 2 TD's and a pick 6 -asking him how it feels to "overcome" the primetime performance problems he has had, while Kirkpatrick is on the sidelines somewhere asking "WTF?"

Cinci defense gets 4 picks against Manning - Manning fell apart when it started raining.
