DS was pulling for UNC, but probably was just slightly less disappointed than the other UNC fans in attendance at the outcome. But just slightly...

Well, Williams stil isn't shit as a passer, and teams have figured out he can't make reads passed the second progression.
Fed is a fucking idiot for not overruling the oc and demanding that Hood be out there for the plays inside the ten. Give him the ball. He was killing them.
I was pleased with the defense, even though this wasn't a great SC offense.
I thought UNC would win a close game due to some stupid SC turnovers, but the reverse is true.
I am more concerned about SC than I am UNC. That SC team will have to scratch and claw to get to 7-8 wins. This could be bad. SEC defenses are going to clobber that offense.

UNC was and is the better team. We threw 2 interceptions in the end zone and another inside the 20. Missed an easy interception that would've been returned for a TD. Got stopped on a 4th and 1 at our own 20 that could've easily been ruled a first down. Mistakes are obviously part of the game, but I doubt we'll make that many costly mistakes again this year. We should roll thru the ACC. USC is not the class of the SEC this year by any means, but they'd be an upper level team in the ACC easily. Hate that we lost a game that we should've won by 21+, but shit happens sometimes. I was pleased with the way we played overall, and feel pretty confident that we won't commit those types of costly errors in the future. We'll be fine, should be a 10 win season for us...

If Fedora wasn't our coach, I would agree. However, this team will only win 7-8 games because they will lose 2-3 games they have no business losing.

On the 3 interceptions we threw, even if we hadn't gotten TD's on those drives, we would've easily gotten chip shot field goals, which would've been enough to win the game. Hell, two field goals would've won the game. Again, mistakes are part of the game, obviously, but Marquis was one of the best QB's in the red zone last year. This was just a glitch, we'll be fine. My problem, although I understand the reasoning, is why don't they run Marquis on those QB draws that he had so much success with last year. Even the USC QB was gaining good yardage and first downs running, and Marquis is way better at it than that guy. I realize the staff wants to assign that duty to the running backs, but when you have a weapon like Marquis (a big, solid QB who can run very well), I think you should use it...

Throw the ball away or take two sacks, and we win the fucking game. I would say this is easily corrected, but this is a fifth year senior who has started for 1.5 seasons. I dare say this is a permanent problem. Fuck me.

Being the better team and losing makes the pill more bitter to swallow.

Undoubtedly true. Also the fact that it's our former major rival (although only people of my parents generation remember that, but still) and also an SEC team (although admittedly mid-tier at best this year). Combine all three and it's a big bummer. But then again, it is UNC football, so it's not really like losing in the FF to a team we should have beaten or anything like that. Plus, it's a non-conference game and all that. But as I said earlier, even a mid-tier SEC squad would compete most years for the ACC championship, so I'm pretty encouraged that, aside from a few gaffes that I think (hope) won't be occurring on a regular basis or in such profusion in one game, we looked pretty good. We've got 3 cupcakes coming up, and then Georgia Tech, that will be the real test of our defense and hopefully the offense will be less prone to such errors by then...

So when is UNC going to end this ACC shit show charade and come to the SEC with Duke or UVA?

VaTech.

Meh. VaTech doesn't bring much we don't already got (except the state footprint and some DC exposure) . A little academic prestige couldn't hurt the rest of the schools, plus basketball inventory will be important for the network to increase its profitability. I would prefer UVa over VaTech.

Sure, Ohio State is a much better team. I still like VaTech, though.
