They inquired but there were no "negotiations" according to LSU. Doesn't matter, Jimbo stays where he belongs for now and Les wins the SEC next year.

Next year will be one of Bama's deepest teams ever. I would be shocked if we didn't repeat in ATL.

Les Miles reportedly fired. Nick Saban is now the so-called "Dean of SEC Coaches."

Saban will only stay at Bama a couple of years. Three tops.

Sorry to hear about Miles. He was a lot like Mark Richt. Fabulous recruiter. Won a ton of games. Usually highly ranked and feared around the SEC. Even won a Natty, unlike Richt. But never could live up to the high expectations he created for himself.

LSU went from a preseason top five to firing their coach in less than a month.

Yes, it does make me chuckle when I remember all the people who assured me Saban was a one and done.

SEC network or a place on Gamedag? I hat to see Les dismissed. LSU will need to make an excellent hire to improve. Have they named an interim or are they going straight for Coach Saban?

I see Orgeron is the interim. He was an up-and-comer once, but didn't do well as HC at Ole Miss. I doubt he's the heir apparent.

Initial reports are Ed Orgeron as interim coach for remainder of this season.

I didn't know Van Gorder was at ND. I'm amazed he wound up at such a prestigious program. Looks like did as well at ND as he did at Auburn. Maybe the Irish will replace him with Ted Roof or Ellis Johnson.
