Apropos of nothing…I noticed today that my wife didn’t have childproof caps on her prescription meds any more.

I asked her why, and she replied “because I’m old”…and that has made all the difference…

"as long as I have my health, it doesn't really bother me"

Have you looked in the mirror lately? Or your own Facebook page?

Considering the meth that they were laced with, I would've thought you'd gained weight...

Did she mean she was old enough to not need the safety caps or that she was so old that she couldn't get them open anymore?

When HST committed suicide in 2005, he was 65, and in his note, he said something to the effect of that he had lived 15 years too long…

I wish he had stayed around to witness Trump's presidency, just to read what he would've had to say about it. Christopher Hitchens, too...

I assume the implication was that she was too old to fuck with the childproof caps at her advanced age…

So instead of childproof caps they could call them elderlyproof caps. That's just cruel, giving you pills that you desperately need to stay alive but knowing you can't open the bottle. Maybe they should call them elderabuse caps...

When you watch The Godfather and the scenes with the singer, Johnny Fontaine, it does cross your mind that this character represents Frank Sinatra. This story supports that idea.

It's so hard for young people today to understand what a masterpiece this movie is. It's in the dialogue.

Woltz wrote:Johnnie Fontaine ruined
I like that word, "ruined." It meant something entirely OBJECTIVE in 1950 or whenever this scene takes place, but not much today.
Woltz wrote:one of Woltz' international stars, she was a valuable protégé. For five years we had her under training. Singing lessons. Acting lessons. Dancing lessons. I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on her. I was going to make her a big STAR! And let me be even more frank. Just to show you I am not a hard hearted man, and its not all dollars and cents, she was beautiful. She was young. She was innocent.
I like that word too, "innocent." Once again, young people today have no fucking clue why this scene hits home
Woltz wrote:she is the greatest piece of ass I've ever had, and I've had 'em all over the world!
Horrified by this in today's world of Harvey Weinstein shaking down young girls who he got to fuck him for roles in his movies. But in 1972 (or 1950 when this scene takes place) it was STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE!!!!!
Woltz wrote:But then Johnnie Fontaine comes along with his Olive Oil voice and Ginney charm, and she runs off. She threw it all away just to make me look ridiculous. And a man in my position can't afford to be made to look ridiculous! Now you get the hell out of here!
The dialogue is dated. Its dated and old and makes little to no sense today (and almost portrays Woltz as a criminal and a monster) but made perfect sense in its day. And in its day, it was what was expected of wealthy movie producers (basically saying that any young girl could be made into a movie star if you put enough money into her.)

Basically, the wealthy movie maker/producer was fucking a young starlet, Harvey Weinstein style, and she hadn't yet been fucked by very many OTHER men. She was innocent. And Johnny took that away from him, so he would get back at him by refusing to cast him in a movie. LOL! To think that Frank Sinatra could have been Johnny Fontaine in real like, holy shit!
