I don't know if he's insider trading, per se, though. I doubt any substantive bans occur. Maybe the extended magazines, but really I only expect wider background checks to be the only thing to come out of our legislature on two feet.

I always thought he was more ok with guns than his wife and that he was going for the ride on the rhetoric because he loves his wife. I bet she has no idea of the full extent of his gun collection and that she is surprised by the purchase.

clearly his logic was to buy one before they became illegal - the same reason thousands of gun owners across the nation are doing it , then he got busted for it and tried to make it some act to show how easy it was for him to purchase one. Except he is part of the reason they are paying $1800 for it now instead of $700. I'm not saying he profited from it - I'm just saying he knew he was going to lead a charge to make them hard to come by.

So maybe its more like a gay congressman getting a Thai houseboy before passing anti-gay legislation

Yesterday my cousin & his buddies were bitching about the supposed soon to be ban on assault weapons while watching NASCAR. I just laughed at them. They didn't understand why. I told them Obama is a genius. They still didn't understand why. Then I explained to them that even Obama knows it's going to be a long fight which he won't even be around to see to an end but by his actions look at the run on guns he created thus spurring the economy.
