Honest/ethical news coverage might, let's give it a try.

Explain that, will you? How will more honest/ethical news coverage deter the nutjob mass-shooters. Either you're onto something, or you're just spouting off some bs platitude that means squat.

Chicago and DC had anti-gun laws that were so restrictive that SCOTUS struck them down two years ago.

That 4 justices believe that a state or local government can negate a constitutional guarantee is pretty disturbing. Makes you wonder what other constitutional amendments they think a state or or city can suspend. "The city of Dallas appoints a board to approve all articles written in the Dallas Morning News" or "The state of Mississippi bans the practice of Islam."

What's comical is not the murders, but the stark contrast between how the Aurora murders and a typical weekend in Chicago are covered in the national media. The one with a single white gunman who murders 12 mostly white victims makes huge national headlines and allegedly never "happens in the last 5, 10, 20, or 40 years." But the one with several black/hispanic gunmen who murder a similar number of mostly black/hispanic victims happens every 10, 15, 20 DAYS around here. The MSM hardly ever notices or covers the latter. After all, to do so would be racist.

I don't know that they ignore it, but prof is right if he's saying they don't cover it the same way or with the same relentless fervor. That's not the news fault though. They keep banging on the topics that get viewers.

The program to which Holmes was accepted last fall admits just six students a year. Candidates have top grades and "near perfect" test scores, Shur said. They undergo a background check but no mental examination. "No program requires psychiatric evaluation, to the best of my knowledge,"

Holmes came with "excellent academic credentials," Shur said at a press briefing Monday flanked by school Chancellor Don Elliman and Executive Vice Chancellor Lilly Marks.

LMAO. Their only agenda is to lure in the most viewers which generates advertising revenue. Clearly it has worked in your case....

Prof says the race-sensitive media gives the white shooter an unfair amount of the spotlight, but that hasn't always been the case.

Do you really think drunk driving would decline that much? Maybe down to 5,000 a year? You don't think people could easily disengage that option in their cars?
yes, actual driving as opposed to accidents even more, and no, not easily for the average person.
