If he’s really paying himself a $54 million salary then he’s probably paying more tax himself than what the church would paying 15%. I guarantee you the church is like corporation and would simply not turn a profit each year.

Churches arent trying to make a profit, they would just spend more to ensure they break even and all of us would pay more for government paper pushers to waste a fuckload of time auditing and enforcing them to earn $0 more in tax

Now Im sure state and local governments salivate over the potential property taxes….

I understand Osteen's appeal. He preaches the easy path to heaven, a generous god that only wants what is best for you. He preaches a religion of mental well being without the price tag of guilt or ownership of sin. Instead of a life of obedience serving God, he flipped the script and preaches making God work for you. People flock to that shit. Its the fast food of Christianity.

Preachers pay income tax on their salaries, except they can exempt out of SS tax and have an exemption for housing costs, which, for him, is quite a tax break. I'm seeing alot of poor preachers retire without paying into SS and are now not able to get benefits because they exempted out of paying. Bad choice for poorer preachers, good choice for rich televangelists

He’s just another televangelist crook that exploits the poor and promises financial windfalls if folks donate to his church. He just talks slower, no speaking in tongues or making people pass out, and he has a softer smile.

The Murdaugh Murders documentary is out now on Netflix. Just had time to watch the first episode where they get into the boat accident back in 2019. Very good since it was basically the other four in the boat, that are still alive, that are the whole narrative.

The prosecutor asks a question and Murdaugh answers, then a follow up question where Murdaugh asks for clarification, then he (Murdaugh) rejects whatever narrative the prosecutor presents and gives a slightly altered variation of it, making it seem like he refutes what the prosecutor said and backs it up with factual information

and what its doing, at least in my mind, is constantly undermining the prosecutor to the jury where they think every accusations he (the prosecutor ) makes is wrong, and Alex has to correct him.
