Last line from the plot description of a movie entitled "The Boost": "As the end credits roll, we see Lenny still using cocaine in his filthy apartment. He has been relating his tale to a visiting New York friend, blaming others for his failures, and is reduced to a babbling shell of himself."

I was a little bit underwhelmed by the Yellowstone finale last night...
I can see that I guess but I liked it.

I was watching Law and Order earlier, not even sure why, I'd seen this episode before but I watched it again anyway. Later I fell asleep on the couch and just now have woken up and some Columbo movie from 1977 is on and the older gray-bearded actor who was in the Law and Order episode is the main bad guy in Columbo, except 20 years earlier, still bearded but not gray. It wasn't even 20 years earlier, it was like 17, but the change was significant. He was 53 in Columbo and 70 in Law and Order, but the difference was night and day. So of course my main thought is that I'll be 70 in way less than 17 years, and I'll be an old man. Thanks for ruining my night, Columbo....

According to imbd, a 19 year old Jamie Lee Curtis is also in this episode, but I haven't seen her yet...

There's also a young actress named Carol Jones in this episode, I thought she was a teenager but imdb says she was actually 22 years old when this Columbo movie came out. Oh well, you know how they can make early 20-ish people look younger. Here she is in Columbo:
Here's a more recent picture:
Thanks, Columbo...

Turns out the actor, Theodore Bikel, who has thrown me into an existential crisis due to his aging b/w Columbo and Law and Order was a famous jewish stage actor who originated the role of Baron Von Trapp in The Sound of Music and also played in other big Broadway hits. He's dead now. So if there's anything these Columbo and Law & Order episodes have taught me, it's that wer'e all gonna get old and die. Thanks, Columbo..

Peter Falk was 50 years old when this Columbo movie came out. He's been dead for 10 years now. Cardiorespiratory arrest, pneumonia and Alzheimer's disease, according to wikipedia. So not only are we all gonna die, we're going to die as old, wheezing vegetables. Great...

Evidently Bikel got divorced from his wife of 41 years in 2008 at the age of 84. Damn, you'd think if you'd put up with it that long you'd be like "fuck it, I'll be dead soon" (and if there's anything this night has taught me, it's that last part), but not Bikel. He got married again but the new wife died 4 years later (no surprise there, it happens to us all), but then the motherfucker got married again, at the age of 89. That didn't last long, b/c, surprise (not!), Bikel himself died two years later...

Great, now another episode on Columbo is on, guess who's in this one? Ruth Gordon, for fuck's sake she was already 80 when this episode came out. Guess who else? Mary Jackson, who played one of the doddering Baldwin sisters in The Waltons. She was a relatively spry 67 years old when this episode came out, but she went on to live to the age of 95. So suck on that, Ruth Gordon. The main takeaway, though, of course, is that they're both dead...

My maternal grandparents divorced in 1969 after 33 years of marriage. One maternal great aunt (on my maternal grandmother's side) divorced her husband after 34 years of marriage, and another maternal great aunt on that side divorced her husband after 41 years of marriage.
The women in my mother's family are something else...

after years and years of wishing everyone dead in your posts, it took a Columbo/L&O combo to bring you to the realization that everyone is indeed mortal?
