Re: Florida State Seminoles
I think he could be very good at Bama. I don't think Kiffin is a brilliant coach but I think he's creative enough to get the job done, and Coker has underrated speed and arm strength. My only concern for him is whether the expectations are just too high - yes, he outplayed Winston in fall camp last year but that doesn't necessarily translate to game play, but some Bammers seem to think he's destined for the Downtown Athletic Club this winter. There's no reason he can't follow in the Bama tradition of very good but not necessarily great QBs.

"Bammers" in the Alabama fanbase greatly outnumber the alums or what you might call "Tide fans"

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Okay. But that exists in every fan base. Every. Single. One. (At least with the popular 'national teams').
Want to see a clip of B1G fans throwing beer cans at each other? Burning sofas? Screaming at the camera about some perceived sleight agin' the Buckeyes? If so, let me know. I can oblige.
Further, I think the use of terms like Bammers, GayTurds, Fuckeyes, Semen Holes, Barners, Buttsniffers, Tar Holes, Bunghole Tiggers, and god knows what else has run its course.
Your mileage, as always, may vary.

I don't think of nor use the term "Bammer" as derogatory, certainly not as obviously so as the others you mentioned...

Bammers is an epithet. An insult of the highest order. A term used only by people who hate America, and who actively support the rape, torture, and murder of children. It's a word first coined by the infamous Boko Haram gang.

My apologies, AA. Like hedge, I was unaware of the sensitive and pejorative nature of that particular epithet. I will refrain from use of the "B" word in the future.

It's too late. You're about to lose your pro sports team.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Fuckin' oversensitive Bammers...
In other draft-related news, someone's VERY early 2015 mock draft has 6 Noles going in the first round. My limited research shows the greatest two year draft period being anOSU with 19 in 03-04 (5/14) and the greatest three year period being anOSU with 27 in 02-04 (8/5/14). We just hit 18 for a 13-14 (11/7), and could have 12 or 13 more drafted next year. I wouldn't blame anyone for going to the draft early next year as the offense will be absolutely devoid of meaningful game time experience in 2015 and it unquestionably looks to be a rebuilding year.

Re: Florida State Seminoles
Also, in the 85 scholarship limit era (95-present), here are the number of draft picks by team:
anOSU - 118
FSU - 117
USCw - 109
UGA - 107
Miami (of FL) - 105
UF - 104
UTenn - 102
LSU - 98
Bama - 90
ND - 87
I haven't seen the potential draft picks of anOSU next year but surely it cannot exceed or match FSU's, so the Noles should take the lead there.

Doc, if you're still alive, do you have any suggestions on things to do at Notre Dame? I know you went to the game there a few years ago, and my son has a baseball tournament there next weekend. I was really looking forward to this one as I know the campus is supposed to be gorgeous.
Valparaiso this weekend doesn't look nearly as interesting but it should still be a good time.
